Happy New Year!
We’ve been fortunate to not have too many cold days yet, but I’m sure they are coming! That means extra time indoors. Here at Chesterbrook, we have lots to keep us busy and active even when we are indoors. But what about when you are at home. Do you ever run out of ideas of what to do? There is always TV, right? There are shows that children watch that can certainly stimulate imagination and learning. But not every show is appropriate for young children. What can we do instead of TV? Here are some ideas:

Here are some of our fun things we have planned for the month of January:
- 1st: Happy New Year
- 2nd: Chesterbrook is Closed
- 4th: National Spaghetti Day: We will enjoy spaghetti for lunch
- 5th: National Bird Day
- 10th: Snow Day
- 12th: We will have a visit from the Cowboy Dentist
- 13th: Soccer Shots Begins
- 13th: Stuffed Animal Day: Bring in your favorite stuffed animal to share
- 16th: Martin Luther King Jr Day
- 16th: Appreciate a Dragon Day
- 18th: Winnie the Pooh Day
- 20th: Penguin Awareness Day: Wear black and white
- 21st: Open House from 10am to 1pm
- 23rd: Measure your Feet Day
- 25th: Opposite Day
- 26th: Winter Celebration begins at 4pm
- 27th: Chinese New Year observed: It is the year of the Rooster
- 30th: Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day
- 31st: Inspire your heart with art Day

Reminders
- Please be sure to wash your child’s hands upon entry into the classroom. We want to do our best to keep germs at bay!
- Please be sure all schedule changes have been approved by the office.
- Please sign your child in and out each day; the sheets are located in the foyer outside of the office.
- Please do not leave your vehicles running while you are inside the building.
