From the Office of the Principal
Now that the holiday season has arrived, many of us will take the time to visit with family and friends or reconnect with important people in our lives. This type of personal connection is an important part of our school’s philosophy and continues to flourish through our many school events. Meaningful connections between teachers and parents guarantee academic, social, and emotional growth of each of our students. Your participation in our school activities has been amazing! Thank you for your support and ongoing commitment to our Chesterbrook Academy community.
It’s hard to believe that it is already December and the holiday season is here! November went by way too quickly, especially with all the events and activities! On Saturday, November 5, we will held an Open House for our prospective families from 10 am to 1 pm. On Veteran’s Day on Friday, November 11, Chesterbrook Academy was closed so that we could hold our bi-annual Professional Development Day. On this day our teachers participated in a series of trainings on curriculum implementation, sensory exploration, lesson planning, and they had a chance to partner with Chesterbrook teachers from around the Charlotte area. We held a Parent Thanksgiving Luncheon on Thursday, November 17, and we had a great turnout. Thank you to all the parents who brought side dishes and desserts for the event, everything was wonderful, and we hope you had a great time eating a Thanksgiving feast with your child. Finally, we were closed on Thanksgiving day and the following Friday, and we hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
December is always such a fun month here at Chesterbrook Academy! The children are always so happy and full of life around the holidays. During the holiday season we choose an organization to give back to those families in the area who are not as fortunate. This year, we are excited to be partnering with the Make-A-Wish foundation to help raise enough funds to grant the wish of a child during the holidays. The other Chesterbrook Academy locations in the Charlotte area are banding together to work with the Make-A-Wish foundation in order to help as many children as possible. Our Make-A-Wish fundraiser is still going on and will continue through the holiday season. We sincerely appreciate your donations! No amount is too small! Our online donation page is http://site.wish.org/goto/providence-rd-west . Please join us as we work towards this exciting goal! Towards the end of the month, Chesterbrook Academy will enjoy our Holiday Break on Monday, December 26. Finally, Links to Learning folders will be going out on Friday, December 30.
As always, we will always be here to help you in any way possible if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you!

Chesterbrook Academy Parent Referral Program
If there’s one thing parents love to do, it’s talk about their children’s successes. When friends ask you about your child’s experiences at Chesterbrook Academy, what type of success stories do you share? Do you mention the personal and educational discoveries your child is making thanks to our advanced curriculum? Do you talk about the new levels of self and social confidence your child has gained thanks to our encouraging atmosphere? Whatever glowing reports you deliver about how your child is growing with his or her education, we couldn’t be more appreciative. In fact, we’d like to show you just how thankful we are for your endorsements. Now when you tell other parents about our school, you can become a Chesterbrook Academy Ambassador.
For every new child you refer who enrolls at our school for three months, you’ll receive an Ambassador Certificate for one FREE week of tuition for your child.
It’s our way of saying thanks for doing what comes naturally – singing the praises of your child and sharing your experiences with the Chesterbrook Academy difference. At the front desk are referral certificates you can give to friends and colleagues who ask about our school. If you have any questions about how you can become a Chesterbrook Academy Ambassador, please contact an administrator.
