Dear Parents,
Our new school year has begun and as we say good bye to all of our graduates, we welcome our new friends into our school! Almost all children are making a transition to the next class and everyone has transitioned very well over all! This is definitely a busy time of year with a lot of moving parts, so please check your email often for updates, check your child’s cubby as well for information we may send home in paper format.
Please also be advised that although the weather is still quite warm, it will be cooling down soon, so please make sure your child has a weather appropriate change of clothes in their cubbies! We are also asking that parents only bring what can fit into your child’s cubby. We have limited space and it is a violation to have students belongings touch each other. So we are asking that only items that fit into their cubby be allowed to be brought to school.
We also want to continue to stress that outside food and drink, other than for allergy purposes is not allowed. There are certain nutritional components that we must maintain and we will provide that. If your child arrives early, and you want to bring a small snack, that is fine, however after your child stops eating, the meal is considered over and must be thrown away. We can not keep cups or food items in their cubbies. We do serve morning snack at 8:30am, lunch around 11:30 and afternoon snack around 2:30. We will also provide water through out the day. If you have a special request, please see me to ensure we are following proper policies. If food or drink is found in your child’s cubby or bag, we will have to throw it away.
If you child has an epi-pen or other life saving medications that we keep on site, please make sure you are keeping the authorization forms updated as well. These have to be renewed every 6 months and we need doctors signatures and orders as well as parent permission. Other than life saving medication, we do not give medication at school.
We have a very exciting Back to School night planned for Friday, September 9th, from 6:30pm – 8pm. Please stop by and meet your child’s new teachers and ask any questions you may have. We can’t wait to see everyone! If you haven’t grabbed an academic year calendar, please do so at the front desk. This will tell you all days that we will be closed, and all special events we have planned so you can mark your calendars early! We appreciate all of your continued support for Chesterbrook Academy at Beverly Crest!
Here’s to another wonderful school year!
Sincerely,
Lindsey Soban, principal
