June Newsletter
Happy June! Congratulations go out to all our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Enrichment students as they prepare for their next step in their young academic careers. Graduation will be held Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 at 4 pm on our brand new playground, weather permitting of course. (Inside graduation if we experience rain) Graduation always means that we will say good-bye to a few of our families, as their children move onto elementary school public or private. Thank you to those families for allowing us to teach and nurture your children at Chesterbrook Academy these past years.
Another big thank you goes out to our May Teacher Appreciation organizer, Mrs. Renee Yeater for all of the ideas, gifts and food for the staff. Our teachers have loved the praise and thoughtfulness of the parents. Thanks to all who participated. Mrs. Yeater is already brainstorming our next event.
A reminder to all of our wonderful families to please complete student forms when given through your parent mail folder or child’s cubby. As stated before, these forms are very important to update every six months to a year in some cases. This is not a voluntary task, but Pennsylvania State regulated by the Department of Human Services. These forms include, emergency contact forms, health assessments, with an exam by a doctor with their signature, and Tuition Agreements. Thank you for your cooperation in completing this paperwork.
If sunscreen has not been brought in for your child, please bring in a labeled bottle for their outside play. Water play days have been posted on the June Activity Calendar for each age group. Please bring a towel, swimwear, swim diapers for younger children and water shoes (no flip flops).
Other items to bring in for your child are extra seasonal clothes. Our supply of extra clothing for children has been greatly depleted from our laundry room and when children experience accidents or spills we have no extra clothing to fit. Please bring in tops, bottoms, underwear, socks, and extra shoes for those children practicing potty training. We please ask that children always wear closed toe footwear to prevent injuries on the playground.
Summer camp for preschool and elementary ages begins on Monday, June 6th. Some of our classrooms will shift to accommodate our elementary aged summer campers, but will shift back at the end of the summer. We are looking forward to a fun, exciting, and creative summer at Estelle Drive.
Please help in welcoming Darla Dickason and Rachel Bucher. These are two new staff who will be working with our elementary aged campers for the summer. Ms. Darla will teach our Pre K B and Kindergarten Enrichment in the fall. Miss Rachel will be working with our infants in the fall. Of course, we will temporarily say good-bye to Ms. Lauren as she and her husband prepare for the coming of their daughter. No worries, Ms. Lauren will return sometime in September to resume her position as Assistant Principal. Best wishes to the Crowe Family.
Once again, thank you for allowing us to care, teach and nurture your children each and every day.
Warmest Regards,
Wendy Musser, Principal

Summer is a time to relax, go on vacation and spend time outdoors. However, it also provides great opportunities for shared reading experiences with your child. As you begin planning picnics, beach trips and barbecues, don’t forget to bring a book along! Nursery rhymes, for instance, are a great choice[.....]
