Happy May! It is hard to believe that it is May already, but if the saying-“April showers bring May flowers” is true, we are in for a beautiful month! We are looking forward to celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week May 8th-12th, honoring all of our moms on Mother’s Day, May 14th, and remembering those who died serving our country on Memorial Day, May 29th.
Chrissy and I have many fun things planned to celebrate our teachers next week, but we know how much you enjoy participating in the festivities as well. We were thinking that maybe you would like to write a special little note to your child’s teacher on a paper heart that we will send home on Friday. The children can decorate it if they would like and say why their teacher is so special. We will surprise the teachers by hanging the hearts up in the hallway outside their rooms.
We are also planning a luncheon for them on Wednesday and a small plate party on Friday. So many of you spoiled us last year with your very generous food gifts that we thought you might prefer to just contribute an item to one of our feast days. Please understand that you do not have to participate in any of this. It is just an offer to make it less of a burden to you if that is what you were hoping to do. If you decide to join in ours, please send me an email or speak to one of us so we know how to plan what we need to get or prepare. Thank you!
Amazing Athletes has been a real hit with the children participating in it. They have been offering sample classes for the children to try. Let your child’s teacher know if you think your child would be interested in joining.
Summer Camp is right around the corner. We have been busy planning what we hope will be a fun summer for all. We will be posting a sign up sheet in each room for summer camp shirts for those students remaining through the summer. Please let us know what size shirt your child wears, so we can order the correct size . Thank you!
