Dear Families,
April sure was a busy month! We had such a wonderful time celebrating Week of the Young Child and Earth Day! Thank you all for helping our school celebrate Earth Day. Together, students at our school released over 3,000 ladybugs. Celebrating Earth Day provided our teachers with many opportunities to relate science, math, and literacy concepts to everyday life. As we move into May, we are getting our classrooms ready for a summer of additional enrichment.
This is going to be a fun and busy month. We will be celebrating our teachers/staff the week of May 2nd for teacher appreciation week. We will also have muffins during drop off on Monday, May 9th for our annual Muffins for Moms in celebration of Mother’s Day. We will be hosting our Pre-K graduations June 2nd so our Pre-K families should be on the lookout for additional information that will be coming home throughout the month. In addition, we will be closed on Monday, May 30th for Memorial Day. Please be sure to check out the monthly calendar on our website for all of the important dates to remember this month.
Our students love spending time outdoors and we want to make sure we take ample advantage of the nice weather. Please make sure to refresh the spare clothing in your child’s cubby. Take home anything that no longer fits and leave a spare set of well-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes. Closed toe shoes must be worn at all times. If your child wears crocs to school, they need to have the strap on their heel. As a reminder, you are more than welcome to send in sunscreen for your child; however, you must complete a form for the sunscreen use before bringing it in and it cannot be expired. Please ask a member of the administrative team if you need one.
We are currently in the process of adding some final touches to our summer camp calendar. We have a lot of fun things planned that we know your child will enjoy. If your child is two and up, you have received a preschool camp form via email last month. This should be turned in by May 6th. Each student, two years old and up, who attends during the summer, must complete the form and return it. We have extras at the front if you need a new one. We can’t wait to spend summer with you and your children!
Lastly, we wanted to update you that Ms. Ruth is taking on a new role within our school as an office administrator. She will be spending time supporting us, our teachers, and our families in any way possible.
We hope that you have a great month and, as always, we appreciate each and every one of you and your continued support every day!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kristie Salmon
