From Our Principal:
Happy December! Can you believe it is the Holiday Season already? Well our Winter Wonderland Tree is up, and the hallway is starting to sparkle with the decorations our families and classrooms have made, so it must be true. Thank you to all of you who so generously give of your time to help decorate the cardstock ornament patterns we sent home. They really do make a difference and speak volumes about your commitment to family involvement. Thank you!
This month is full of many wonderful and fun learning opportunities for all. The children will be learning new songs to sing to help put you in the holiday spirit and about different traditions. We invite any and all to share the special traditions your family enjoys from holiday recipes to games to outings and other activities.
The teachers are busy planning holiday parties for all to enjoy. We will be converting Room 6 into a holiday room for all classrooms to enjoy as we plan different Reindeer Games for the children. I hear some of them are pretty challenging and definitely very entertaining!
Because we cannot have our families gather for our traditional Snowflake Festival, the teachers will be recording what their classes have prepared for a presentation. You will receive a notification from them as to when they will be recording and when it will be ready. If any of you do not want your children in the video, please let us know. We can keep them out of sight but still let them sing. It is also important to remember that what is sent home cannot be placed on your facebook pages or on YouTube. We want everyone to feel safe .
Just a few reminders:
Please make sure that all coats, hats , and belongings are labeled with your child’s name.
If we should have a need to open school late, close school early, or close it for the day; you can tune in to ABC School 6 for any public announcements. We will always try to notify you in a variety of ways if we can depending on the situation and time. We will send out a Tadpoles Note as well as the ABC 6 notice. If we are in school and the decision has been made to close early, we will also try to call you. Please make sure we have the most updated information for you-telephone numbers and email addresses.
We would also like to remind you that anyone coming into school to drop off or pick up must still wear a mask and cannot enter the classrooms. While we realize people want to help, we have been asked to continue our No Classroom Entry protocol. Please just knock on the door if you do not think a teacher has seen you.
Every classroom has a Parent Mailbox System. If you do not know where your information is being kept for your easy access, please ask your child’s teacher.
School will be closed Friday, December 24th in observance of Christmas.
School will be closed Friday, December 31st in observance of New Year’s Day.
