Happy July! We are officially enjoying summer here at Chesterbrook Academy in Cooper City! Summer camp adventures and explorations are always connecting children back to the weekly theme and developing skills through play. We have transitioned some of our young learners to the next stage of growth and development. In due time, we will be ready for back to school, as we prepare to welcome new children and families to another school year serving the Cooper City community.
We will be sending a VIDEO to all our VPK families that will explain in detail its school policies, VPK rules and regulations on Monday, August 2nd. If you would have any questions in regards to the information on the video, you will be able to address them with Mrs. Vivian or Ms. Yoy on Meet & Greet the Teacher Day, which will take place on Tuesday, August 3rd, as follows:

- ROOM 8 – 9:30 a.m.
- ROOM 7 – 10:30 a.m.
- CENTER COURT – 11:30 a.m.
Every year during the month of July we have a Kids Helping Communities service project during the week of July 19-29. The past two years we have hosted Alex’s Lemonade Stand. This year do the pandemic we have decide to be part of ChildNet. This wonderful organization accepts donations for Broward and Palm Beach counties’ children in foster care. We will be collecting items such as underwear, socks, sneakers, toiletries as well as school supplies (backpacks, pens, notebooks, binders, markers). More details and information how to and where to go will be communicated soon.
Parents please do not hesitate to stop by the office, if you have any question or suggestion. Also take advantage of Parent Referral ask for the flyer at the front office.

AS OF MONDAY, JUNE 21ST STUDENTS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO WEAR MASK. WE LEAVE THIS DECISION TO THE PARENT’S DISCRETION. WE CANNOT WAIT TO SEE OUR CHILDREN SMILE AGAIN!
It very important for all parents and families members to follow the guidelines for the safety and health of our students and staff. All Parents entering the building for drop-off/pick-up must wear a mask and hand sanitizer will be available for your use. NO MASK, NO ENTRY, NO EXCEPTIONS! Parents/family members will not be health-screened upon entry, only students and staff will continue to be screened.
Please remember drop-off/pick-up via building entry, will be as follows:
Front Door hours will be from 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m – 5:00 p.m.
Please read below other pertinent information:
Please keep in mind that in order to be able to staff our building accordingly for mornings and afternoons, not all staff members will be present at the time of drop off and/or pick-up. Also, some of our classrooms will be combined among the same age group until another staff member arrives. For example: On some days during morning hours, one teacher will receive all of the Intermediate students in one classroom and then separate the children when the other teacher arrives.
- Links2Home check in/out will be conducted by the Administration/Staff.
- Parents will drop off their child at the classroom door and the teacher will receive the student.
- Parents are not allowed to walk inside the classroom for safety and health reasons at this moment nor are not to stay in the building or use the time for parent/teacher conferences.
- Conference time and follow-up conversations can be scheduled via Zoom with your Principal.
- There will be no scheduled parent gatherings (festivals/parties/group meeting)
Every Friday is Ice Cream Social Day during the Summer

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT OF THE MONTH:
A Powerful Connection to a Lifetime of Learning
Your children experience the perfect balance of learning and play in a safe, nurturing environment. Our Links to Learning (LTL) curriculum prepares them for kindergarten by introducing concepts in reading, math, art, music and much more. You will receive progress updates, as well as ideas to continue learning at home.

You can expect to receive daily communication and pictures via email through our Links 2 Home program. And, we also encourage you to take a few moments each week to review your child’s classroom Links to Learning “Parent Board,” so you can “Link” to your child’s early education experiences. Posted are “Weekly Skills,” “Lesson Plan,” “Daily Schedule,” “Monthly Spanish” and “Learning Outcomes.”
SICK POLICY:
The purpose of our sick policy is to reduce the spread of illness among our students and to encourage full recuperation of sick children before they return to school. We depend on parents to assist us in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all of our children.
Children may be sent home if they have any concerning symptoms. Also, a child must be free of all of these symptoms for at least 24 hours before he/she can return to school. These symptoms include:
- A fever of 100 degrees or more
- Vomiting within the previous 24-hour period
- Diarrhea within the previous 24-hour period
- Symptoms of a communicable disease
- Fussy, cranky behavior and not himself/ herself
Following an illness, a child may return to school once he/she has either been seen by a doctor or it has been determined that illness is not contagious. (A doctor’s clearance may be requested.) Please help us keep all of our children healthy by following these rules. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Thank you for your support!
TUITION: Tuition is due the 1st business day of every month. Accounts not paid in full by 12:00 pm the fifth business day of every month will automatically receive a late fee of $30. If tuition is not paid in full by the 7th business day of each month, your child may not attend until the balance is paid in its entirety. Failure to comply with tuition policies will result in a notice of dis-enrollment. If you would like to sign up for our ACH program, which automatically pulls your monthly tuition from the account of your choice the 1st business day of every month, just let us know, and we will help get you enrolled.
ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS FEES: We are excited to have DANCE THROUGH THE AGES (DTTA) back with us. DTTA is the resident dance instructional team for Chesterbrook Academy. The instructors are trained teachers dedicated to ensuing that each child have fun, while learning the importance of movement & rhythm.
Summer Session: June 29th – July 20th. Every Tuesday for 4 weeks. COST: $65.00.
CATERED LUNCH PROGRAM: DUE TO COVID 19 WE HAVE SUSPENDED THIS SERVICE UNTIL SEPTEMBER.
