Happy May Chesterbrook Academy families! Spring is in full bloom and our students are blossoming! April showers have brought us May flowers as well as tons of science and math experiences. Students are learning all about the different parts of a flower. Seeds planted in April are beginning to sprout in to various flowers, fruits, vegetables and herbs. Our student gardeners are learning about all the things plants need to survive. Younger students are classifying flowers by types and sorting by color. We are even using our sense of smell to experience the different smells of different types of flowers and plants.
Playground weather is finally upon us! It’s a perfect time to ensure your child has his/her current sunscreen and Skin Protection Form turned in. We ask that sunscreen be applied at home in the morning, and teachers will reapply as needed. In addition, please check your child’s cubby for seasonal, appropriate sized clothing as the temperatures change. Please remember that the children are not permitted to wear open toed shoes to school for safety reasons.
Please check your email for Scholastic Book Fair information. We will also celebrate our teachers the week of May 3-7. The special activities can be found on our May calendar.
Have a wonderful month!
