From the Office of the Principal
Has everyone had enough rain in the month of February?? Hopefully March ends up being a dryer month, but we did have a great February. Groundhog Day was Tuesday, February 2, and the children learned all about the how the groundhog peeks out from his hole to determine if winter will continue… and of course, he predicted 6 more weeks of winter! The children enjoyed their individual classroom Valentine’s Day parties, and a big thanks to all parents who brought in food, goodies, and valentines for their child’s class. We are happy to report that our teachers enjoyed our Professional Development Day on Monday, February 15 and learned a lot!
We look forward to March as well! We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss Week the first week of March! Don’t forget that Daylight Saving Time begins on Saturday night, March 13/Sunday morning, March 14, so make sure to turn your clocks forward an hour during that weekend. Wednesday, March 17 will mark St. Patrick’s Day, which means that all St. Patrick’s Day classroom celebrations will be that afternoon. Don’t forget that the first day of Spring is Saturday, March 20 as well. We will be holding an Open House for all prospective families on that day as well from 10 am to 1 pm. And remember, when you tell other parents about our school, you will receive one FREE week of tuition for your child for every child you refer to Chesterbrook Academy. Finally, on the last day of the month, Wednesday, March 31, Links to Learning folders go home with your month at a glance, monthly snapshot, Spanish poster (for 2-5 year olds), and samples of your child’s work.
If you have not already done so, please send in an extra set of weather appropriate clothes for your child. Students also need to come to school each day with a jacket and dressed warmly enough to play outside for part of the day.
As always, we will always be here to help you in any way possible if you have any questions or concerns.
William Gordon, Principal
