From The Principal
Welcome to December! I hope you all had a wonderful and very Happy Thanksgiving. Our Thanksgiving celebrations were a little smaller and quieter this year, but the turkey and trimmings were just as good as ever. Now we get to concentrate on our winter celebrations!
I know it will be sad not to have our usual Snowflake Festival, but we are trying to work out a plan to still have a concert-virtually. The children have begun learning their songs, the holiday tree is up in the lobby, and the Snowman is back ready to sing and dance along with the children.
The classrooms are getting decorated with wonderful crafts the children are busy making as they learn about traditions of places near and far. Learning how people around the world celebrate the holidays is a lot of fun, but perhaps your family has special traditions that you would like to share as well. Do you have special foods that you eat or decorations that you make and hang inside your house? Do you have a special recipe that has been handed down that you would like to share? Perhaps you celebrate Hanukkah and make your own potato latkes or play the dreidel game. Maybe you could record your family making the latkes or playing the game. Please let me know if you have any other ideas.
Report Cards and Child Service Reports are completed. When your child’s Progress Reports come home, please sign the one copy and return it to us for your child’s file. Thank you!
You may have heard a few new names or seen a few new faces. I would like to introduce Ms. Shannan W. who has joined our staff as well as Ms. Angie and Ms. Nicole C. who are on loan to us from one of our sister schools. Each one is making a valuable contribution to our team and becoming friends with the children in their care.
Ms. Chrissy and I will be learning how to use the new Tadpoles app for morning drop off and afternoon pick-up. It may take us a little bit to get used to it and do it as quickly as we would like so please bear with us. Please remember that besides the temperature taking, there are questions that we must ask you as well.
Have you updated your child’s extra change of clothes? Did you remember to include underwear and socks?
For those of you who do not use our automatic payment options for tuition, please remember that payment is due the Friday before the upcoming week of attendance or on Monday of the current week. Payments made later than that are considered past due and could be subjected to a late payment fee of twenty-five dollars. All billing is now being done at the Corporate Office and that is something that could be enforced or added automatically. I just want to make sure you are aware of the Tuition Policy and help you avoid any unnecessary fees. Thank you for your understaning.
Looking ahead to the end of the month, I want to remind you that we close early on Christmas Eve and are closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. If you are planning on using your vacation credit over the holidays, please fill out a vacation form and submit it to Ms. Chrissy or me. Thank you.
