From Our Principal:
Welcome Back!
School officially starts for us on August 31st, and we are so excited to welcome back all of you who have not been with us since last March and eager to start our 2020-2021 School Year!
As you all realize, things will start out looking a little differently for all of us. Parents will continue to form a car line for morning drop -off which is between 7:30 and 9 and afternoon pick- up which is between 4 and 5:30. Please do not pull into any parking spaces as we don ‘t want anyone to pull around you with your child(ren) out of the car. If you are going to be late in the morning or need to pick up your child before 4; just call the school number and let us know you are outside, and Ms. Chrissy or I will come out to help you. Parents are asked to wear a mask before exiting the vehicle . Your child’s belongings will be placed in a clear plastic bag. You will unbuckle your child and bring him/her to the Health Screening Table. Your child’s temperature will be taken, and you will be asked the same two questions each day. We need to know if you or your child have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 and if you or your child have any of the COVID symptoms such as a fever, a cough, shortness of breath, loss of smell, or sore throat. Once cleared to enter the building, we will escort your child to his/her room where he will be asked to wash his hands with soap and water upon entering and before touching anything else. The teachers follow the same protocol. I am very proud to say that everyone has been doing a great job!
Please continue to pack your child’s lunch for the time being. There is talk about gradually starting to serve lunches again on one or two days, but nothing has been approved yet. We will continue to serve a morning snack, and afternoon snack, and milk. You all have been so amazing and understanding about the meal situation that I just have to thank you again for the all of the support you have given us. We truly appreciate it.
Most of our teachers are back but not all, so we have had to do some rearranging. Ms. Jenn is still in the Infant Room. Ms. Carrie and Ms. Alyson are heading up the Toddler Room. Ms. Evelyn, Ms. Gina, and Ms. Carsyn are in the Beginner Room. Ms. Terri is in the Intermediates. Ms. Shannon and Ms. Nicole are teaching Pre-K and Pre-K 2 together, and Ms. Mueller is in Kindergarten. As more children return to school and more teachers are added, we may need to make some adjustments; but this is our team as of August 31st- and may I say it is a GREAT one! Ms. Robin is staying home to help her daughter with virtual learning. Ms. Chrissy and her daughter are here. Chrissy has been working hard and taking on many of the roles Robin had as well as her own. She is one busy lady!
Please remember to bring in an extra change of clothes for your child including underwear and socks. Thank you!
