Dear Chesterbrook Families,
We had a great start to the new year here at Chesterbrook in Denver! Our students learned all about how the new year is celebrated around the world, about transportation, winter, and many other themes. This month our students will be celebrating Valentine’s Day and President’s Day by taking part in a variety of hands on learning experiences that our teachers have created for them using our Links to Learning curriculum.
There are a few important dates to remember this month. On February 14th our classrooms will hold their holiday parties. Parents are welcome to come! Please speak with your child’s individual teachers to get more information. On February 17th, President’s Day, we will be closed for Professional Development Day for our staff. We will spend the day in Charlotte alongside fellow educators completing various mandated trainings.
As a reminder, if winter weather does occur this month, you will be notified via text, our website, voicemail, and local news channels of any potential closings and delays. We do not follow the Lincoln county school system’s decisions, so it is important to look for communications regarding our school specifically.
Please be sure to check your child’s cubby weekly to make sure that they have at least two sets of extra clothes, along with a pair of shoes. It is also important to label items that are being brought in. Our teachers do their best to keep each child’s hats, gloves, and jackets in the correct cubbies, but as you can imagine with a classroom full of students this can be difficult at times. We suggest leaving some extra pairs of gloves and hats in their cubbies as well.
Please see our school’s website for our monthly calendar of events, along with our February menu. We look forward to another exciting month full of love, laughter, learning, and friendships at our school!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lindsey DeLair
