A Note From Our Principal
Happy New Year! We can’t wait to spend 2020 with you and your children. Thank you to all who participated in our holiday giving initiative last month. Because of your generosity two local families had a wonderful Christmas. Your donations were truly appreciated and recognized not only by the families but the Open Door Ministry in Royersford.
A great big THANK YOU to our staff for the WONDERFUL JOB they did assisting the children with their holiday show. The addition of the Toddler Classroom to the stage was a true hit and they were so cute! I think everyone who attended will agree with me that the children all loved performing and we have some true talent on our stage each year. Also, a big thank you to Brandi Clark, from the PTO for helping on the night of the show.
On February 24th, 25th, and 26th we will be welcoming Lifetouch Portraits back to our school for Spring Photos. They will be taking sibling photos, individual photos and class photos. We will be doing the same program as last year, where you can see the photo proofs the same day your child is photographed. More information will be coming your way in the next few weeks.
It is inevitable that we will be seeing some winter weather in the upcoming few weeks. I just wanted to remind you how to find out if there is a change in our school hours of operation. Please try all of the following before attempting to come out to school, if the weather is bad.
- Check your e-mail.
- Check the school website.
- Call the school. Our voicemail message is updated with any changes to our schedule.
- Tadpole’s will also send out a notification.
Please remember that the decision to alter the hours of our school is made by upper management. As soon as we are informed about any changes, we start making all the necessary postings and notifications. We understand that you need to make arrangements in the event that plans change. Please bear with us on these days; it is our utmost priority and goal to ensure the safety of our staff and families.
Please take a moment to read through the news and reminders below and let myself or anyone else on our administrative team know if you have questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Donna Baus, Principal
P.S. – Don’t forget Monday February 17, 2020 is our next In-Service Day. Alternate care for your children will be needed as we are closed on this day, for our teachers to obtain their required annual trainings.
Illness Policy
Our parents are vital partners in helping us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the students in our school. The most important thing you can do to assist us in creating a healthy environment is to keep your child home if they are ill. This reduces the spread of illness and allows your child to fully recuperate. Children may not attend school until they have been symptom free for 24 hours if they display any of the following:
- Fever of 100 degrees of more—must be fever free for 24 hours with no fever-reducing medicine before returning to school
- Vomiting, diarrhea or stomach upset
- Heavy nasal discharge requiring wiping every 305 minutes
- Persistent, non-productive or barking cough
- Sore throat
- Skin rash, including diaper rash
- Head lice
- Symptoms of a communicable disease
- Fussy, cranky behavior unlike child’s normal demeanor that may indicate illness
For more information please see our Parent Handbook or reach out to a member of our administrative team.
Links 2 Learning Monthly Folders
Each month our teachers prepare folders that outline what your child has learned in the prior month. These folders have work samples in them and explain the skills that your child is working to master. We send this home at the end of each month and ask that they be returned a few days later. Please let us know if you have any questions about the monthly folders or about your child’s progress!
Please do not confuse these folders with the plastic folder in your child’s cubby. The plastic folders should remain at school at all times. The purpose of these folders is to send papers and communications to you on a daily basis.
Parent Referrals
Do you have friends who are moving to the area, having a child or are unhappy with their child’s current preschool? We are always happy to meet other parents like you and offer a tuition credit for parent referrals. Please see the front office for details.
Important Dates
January 1st—CLOSED FOR NEW YEAR’S DAY
January 25th—Open House, 10am-1pm
January 31st—Parent folders go home
This month, our schools are celebrating the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. and discussing the importance of acceptance, love and kindness for all people.
