Happy November and a full month of giving thanks for so many great things. Thank you all for your participation in our Harvest parade and party last month! Seeing the children in their costumes is always memorable for our staff. Everyone loved carving, exploring, and decorating pumpkins too.
Crisp days are here to stay. Please be sure your child has seasonal and appropriate sized clothing. Jackets are important as well because we don’t want to miss any outside fun. Sunscreen and water bottles can be taken home as well.
Illness Policy Reminder
Our parents are vital partners in helping us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the students in our school. The most important thing you can do to assist us in creating a healthy environment is to keep your child home if they are ill. This reduces the spread of illness and allows your child to fully recuperate. Children may not attend school until they have been symptom free, without the use of fever reducing medicines such as Tyelnol or ibuprofen, for 24 hours if they display any of the following:
- Fever of 100 degrees of more—must be fever free for 24 hours with no fever-reducing medicine before returning to school
- Vomiting, diarrhea or stomach upset
- Heavy nasal discharge requiring wiping every 3-5 minutes
- Persistent, non-productive or barking cough
- Sore throat
- Skin rash, including diaper rash
- Head lice
- Symptoms of a communicable disease
- Fussy, cranky behavior unlike child’s normal demeanor that may indicate illness

Upcoming Events:
This will be a busy month as we head into the holiday season and we are looking forward to spending it with you and your children.
Our annual Thanksgiving Feast will be held on Friday, November 22nd! Please join us for a special lunch beginning at 11:30 am. Lunch will be prepared by Miss Michele and will include turkey and gravy, a vegetarian option, mashed potatoes, homemade stuffing, and pumpkin dessert.
Just a reminder that we are closed on Monday, November 11th for Teacher In-service Day. We are also closed on Thursday, November 28th so that our staff can spend Thanksgiving with their families. Sign up sheets will be posted soon so you can let us know your child’s schedule for the week of Thanksgiving. Please mark yes or no for each scheduled day for your child. Our teachers would like to take time off and we are unable to provide this to them until we have accurate child counts so we can maintain the classroom ratios.
We are grateful for you all! Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
Mary Ellen, Heather, and Michele
