Greetings Chesterbrook Academy Families,
Thank you all for your participation in our Kids Helping Kids initiative this summer! We were able to raise of $200 for Autism Awareness. We are grateful for the opportunity to watch our students serve others these past few weeks and appreciate the role you all had in this.
We still have a few more weeks of summer, but our teachers are hard at work preparing our classrooms for the new school year. Many of our students will be transitioning into new classrooms this month, and classroom specific information will be sent home soon. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns in the interim.
As a reminder:
* We are a peanut free school.
* If your child is sick, we will adhere to our sick policy.
* Please make sure to check your child’s cubby and/or mailbox for important information.
Our school does not follow the local elementary school schedule as we are open more days each year. For the 2018-2019 school year the days we are closed are:
- Labor Day
- Veteran’s Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Black Friday
- Christmas
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- President’s Day
- Independence Day
Links 2 Home App Usage
We know that summer is a busy time for our families, and want to communicate school happenings as clearly as possible to ensure that no one is left out. Daily reports are sent via email each day, but our Links 2 Home app keeps all school communications in one place and is always accessible. The app also allows to you communicate absences to your child’s teacher, leave drop-off notes, and read teacher and administrative notes in detail.
If you’re not a current app user, we encourage you to visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download the app today. You will need to login with the email address you use for Alma. Please let us know if you have issues logging into Links 2 Home!
Summer Cubby Clean-ups
Our students love spending time outdoors and we want to make sure we take ample advantage of the summer weather before it gets too hot. If your child is in the Toddler classroom and up, please make sure they have the following items:
- Labeled bottle of sunscreen.(complete the form at the front counter and give to teacher)
- Reusable water bottle with your child’s name on it (optional)
- Summer appropriate change of clothes
Splash Days
We have several water play days planned for our students this summer and can’t wait for your child to participate! On splash days we provide water tables, sprinklers, water toys, and water slides! Children should come to school in their swimsuit (with swim diaper where applicable) and with a towel and a change of dry clothes with a clothe bag to put all wet clothes in (no plastic). Please apply sunscreen to your child before you drop them off. Our currently scheduled splash days are: Every Thursday during summer camp.

Monday Morning: Daisy Dance is a ballet, tap and a creative movement dance program designed to teach children a life long love of movement and provide a foundation for all dance genres.
Tuesday Morning: GymSport
Tuesday Afternoon: T.O.T (Teams of Tomorrow) is an awesome training program that focuses on basketball handling and dribbling skills. The onsite classes are fun, educational and active.
Wednesday Morning: Mr. Music Man teaches the students scales, cords, and gives a hands on experience with many different musical instruments.
Thursday Morning: Soccer Shots is a popular non-competitive youth soccer program. This program teaches confidence, fun, character, teamwork, coordination and imagination.
Friday Morning: Tumblebus
