A Note from Our Principal
Dear Families,
Welcome April! We are ready for Spring and milder weather coming our way! Priority Registration was wonderful success – thank you to our 168 families who have already committed for the 2019-20 school year. This pre-registration aids us greatly in our planning for the upcoming school year!
April, once again, will be full of fun and activities!
We invite you to join us in celebrating The Week of the Young Child April 8th-12th. The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers and families. Our Theme this year is “Mirror, Mirror, Looking at me!” During the week, our students will be sharing stories, participating in activities, and creating art reflecting our emotions and feelings. We are also asking families to complete a project at home with your child to share with our school. More information and our Calendar of Events will be sent out shortly to make sure you don’t miss a thing!
Chesterbrook Academy at Ellis Preserve will celebrate Earth Day, April 22nd, by planting flower boxes for our playground and participating in a Ladybug Release. More information about our Earth Day events will be coming home soon!
Life Touch Studios will be coming to Chesterbrook Academy on Monday April, 8th and 9th. We can’t wait to see all the smiling faces!
Now that spring has arrived, the days are growing longer and the children are able to spend even more time exploring their world outdoors. Children learn through active play. They use all of their senses to make new discoveries. As the children interact directly with their environment, they gather information and build and develop skills. Taking advantage of this beautiful weather and bringing our children outside to play helps them to learn and grow as they discover new things in their ever changing environment.
Just as the weather is changing, our children are growing! Also, please make sure that you are labeling all your child’s belongings. Please remember that we do not allow any opened toe shoes, such as flip flops or sandals on the playground since they present a safety risk.
As always, it is an honor to work with and watch your children grow. Thank you for choosing our school for your children.
Sincerely,
Lisa Delaney
Principal
