A Note From Our Principal
February was a great month at our school! The annual Sweetheart Dance was a success. Our students have some great dance skills, and several of the little gentleman escorted their mothers to the dance, with flowers in tow. A big thank you to the PTO for putting the dance together. The Classroom winner of the banner decorating contest was our Kindergarten Students. Their banner was included pictures of each student with a mustache and QR codes. When the QR CODE was played you could hear each individual child verbally sharing a special message. Congrats to the Kindergarten Classroom!
During the last few months of February Miss Jacki came to our school for training and visiting hours. As of March 4, Miss Jacki will be joining our school full time as a Assistant Principal. Her hours will be 6:30 a.m. to 3:30/4:00 p.m daily. Upon Melanie’s return we will be reassessing Miss Jacki’s hours. If you did not get to meet Miss Jacki during her two meet and greets, please assist her in getting to know your family by introducing yourself and your child to her.
This month several of our classrooms will be creating or asking you to assist in creating Leprechaun Traps. We will be seeing lots of green with the St. Patrick’s Day classroom parties and hopefully the snow will go away so we can start seeing green grass. In anticipation of spring, our teachers are busy planning meaningful learning activities that will help students gain an appreciation for the changing seasons. In order to make the most of the next few months we will be spending extra time outdoors so our students can interact with nature. Please make sure your child has weather appropriate outerwear for school each day.
We realize that birthdays are a very special time for each child. However, not every child in their class can celebrate with them for different reasons. We are asking that if you are going to be bringing in a special treat for your child to celebrate a special occasion in the classroom with their friends you please let the classrooms teachers know in advance, so they can get permission from the other parents or so the other parents can provide a “special” snack for their child that might cause a allergic reaction or other health concern. When letting your child’s teacher know that you will be bringing in a snack, please let them know what that snack will be. Cupcakes from Giant, Fun Fruits, Dunkin Donuts, etc. We are asking the teachers then to post a sign on the classroom doors getting parents’ permission for the children to participate in the special snack sharing. Please remember all snacks must be store bought and have a list of ingredients labeled on them.
During this month we will welcome Soccer Shots back for a session. More information can be found in your e-mail box We will also be hosting our Annual Pancake Breakfast/Open House on Saturday March 23rd. This event is hosted in conjunction with the end of our Early Bird Registration process for the upcoming school -year. More information will be in your mailbox in the up coming days. Please remember – any child who is not registered for the 19-20 School year, will have their last day with us in June of 2019. We hope to see you for all the fun activities the teachers have planned for the open house and we look forward to accepting your child’s registration for the upcoming school year.
Sincerely,
Donna Baus, Principal
