A Note from Our Principal
Dear Families,
February was a busy month full of wintry weather! We are ready to welcome March and hopefully more lamb than lion days! We have many fun activities planned for the month ahead. Please be sure to check our school calendar for specific information on events throughout the month!
I would like to take this opportunity to share some exciting news with you. Ms. Julie Morin, our Lead Teacher in our Room 11 Pre-K Program, has been chosen Teacher of the Year 2019 at Chesterbrook Academy at Ellis Preserve! Ms. Julie is truly a gifted teacher who brings enthusiasm and fun to her classroom in a warm and loving way. She has a wonderful way of getting the children excited about the activities of the day and marvels at their progress and achievements! Ms. Julie is a true collaborator and an outstanding role model for the children and other teachers who work alongside her each and every day! Ms. Julie was then choose to represent our district of 10 schools and has advanced to the Second level of 24 teachers out of all NLCI Teachers nationwide. Please help us congratulate Ms. Julie and thank all of our teachers for all their hard work and dedication to our children!
As always, it is an honor to work with and watch your children grow. Thank you for choosing our school for your family.
Sincerely,
Lisa Delaney
Principal
Vacation Reminders
Heading out of town for Spring Break? Please let the front office know if you are planning on using your vacation time this month. If you have any questions about vacation or vacation credits, please reference your Parent Handbook. Vacation credits are available to our full-time (year-round enrolled) families who have been enrolled with us for at least six full months. Vacation credits are valid between July 1st and June 30th during the year in which they are awarded; please reference the binder at the front desk for a Vacation Request Form and plan to put in your request at least two weeks prior to your vacation. Thank you!
Cold Weather Reminders
Our students love to play on the playground and we go outside every day (weather permitting). Please make sure your child has a seasonally appropriate change of clothes in their cubby in case they have an accident. Thank you!
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and cooperation during the recent times of inclement weather. The decision to open late, close early, or close the school for the day in bad weather is never an easy one. Careful consideration is given to the affect this decision will have on the families we serve. We know that you depend on us to be available. Our goal is to remain open whenever possible.
Just in case….
As a reminder, we alert 6ABC to any school closings or delays. A text message and email will be sent through links 2Home as well.
