Happy February Chesterbrook Families!
It seems like just yesterday we were all wishing each other a Happy New Year and here we are on the first day of February! If our recent weather is any indication of what’s to come, we are in for a cold month! We will find out tomorrow what Punxsutawney Phil says. Click here for the official Groundhog Day website and watch Phil live from the comfort of your own home!
February is another busy month full of learning, excitement and events here at CBA. Please see below for a list of special events here in school:

Read Across America Week is almost here!!! This week of events was created by the National Education Association in honor of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss and is celebrated on his birthday, March 2nd. Here at Chesterbrook, literature and reading are at the forefront of everything we do…and we love to have fun for the whole week leading up to Dr. Seuss’s birthday! Below are a list of the special activities happening here at school and you can also click here to be directed to Suessville, the official website of Dr. Seuss, which includes activities you can do at home with your child.
Monday- Fox in Socks: Wear silly or mismatched socks!
Tuesday- The Sleep Book: Wear your favorite pajamas to school!
Wednesday- Wacky Wednesday: Wear mismatched clothes, crazy hair or your favorite costume!
Thursday- Green Eggs and Ham
Friday- Cat in the Hat: Wear your Cat in the Hat hat or dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character!
Since it may be too cold to be outside much this month, we have found a few fun local activities to do with children.
1. In celebration of Black History Month, the Garden State Discovery Museum will host the Universal African Drum and Dance Ensemble for a performance on 2/2/19. Click here for more details.
2. With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, what better way to help celebrate than a free kids workshop at the Mt. Laurel Home Depot! Here is more information on their heart candy box workshop.
3. Love looking at the stars but not in the cold? Head the the Rowan University campus for a planetarium show called Cosmic Colors. Click here for more details!
