Greetings Chesterbrook Academy Families,
The year is off to a great start so far and we’re enjoying spending the winter season with you and your children. Now that we’ve all had a chance to settle back in I want to take this opportunity to remind all of you about Links 2 Home and the other communication tools we use to keep in touch.
Also, thank you to those of you who recently completed our parent survey. Surveys were emailed to all enrolled parents over the course of the fall. We have received general results and want to thank you all for your comments. We are pleased to say that our school received an overall satisfaction score of 93%! We are so happy to hear how much you love our school and we will be sure to review all results and the comments to ensure that we continue to improve and keep our parents and students happy.
Please take a moment to read through the news and reminders below and let myself or anyone else on our administrative team know if you have questions or concerns.
Inclement Weather Reminders
We do not always follow the closure schedule of the local public schools because we don’t have to contend with the same transportation issues as public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our working parents. If we must close because our teachers cannot safely get to work, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced. We also post notifications on our website and Facebook page.
Winter Clothing Reminder
If you’ve not already done so, please check your child’s cubby to ensure they have an extra set of weather appropriate clothes. Students also need to come to school each day with a jacket and dressed warm enough to play outside for part of the day. If the weather is brisk we still go outside for active games and SPARK activities and want everyone to be able to participate!
As a reminder:
* We are a peanut free school.
* If your child is sick, we will adhere to our sick policy.
* Please make sure to check your child’s cubby and/or mailbox for important information.
Our school does not follow the local elementary school schedule as we are open more days each year. For the 2018-2019 school year the days we are closed are:
- Labor Day
- Veteran’s Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Black Friday
- Christmas
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- President’s Day
- Independence Day
