A Note From the Principal
It’s a fantastic month here at Chesterbrook Academy in Limerick. We have so much to do and look forward to. The past few months the teachers have all been working very hard and devoting their time and energy to the accreditation process of NAEYC. Last week we welcomed two NAEYC assessors into our school. We are all anxiously awaiting the results of the final accreditation approval. We understand that this could not come until December, but we are hoping that it comes a little sooner.
It’s finally fall and we can’t wait to experience everything this season has to offer with our students and families. We are looking forward to taking the learning outside and are planning special hands-on learning activities in all our classrooms. This month we have several amazing events planned!
Weather Reminders
Despite the unpredictability of fall weather, we try to ensure that our students spend time outdoors each day. Please make sure your child always has a jacket available and a weather appropriate change of clothes in their cubby. We have many fun outdoor activities scheduled for this month and don’t want any of our students to miss out!
Classroom Scarecrow Contest
This year each of our classrooms are creating a scarecrow to enter a school-wide contest sponsored by the PTO. Each of our students will have an opportunity to participate in decorating their classroom scarecrow. The scarecrows will be put on display in the yard during the week of October 31st. We encourage you all to vote for your favorites! The winning class will get a special snack from the PTO and win $100.00 of classroom supplies. Voting will take place in the lobby of each building.
Fall Classroom Parties & Trunk-or-Treating
We will hold our fall parties on October 31st. Please see your child’s classroom door for more information. Also, on this day we will be hosting our annual Trunk or Treat event. If you wish to sign up your decorated car, please do so in lobby A or B. You can arrive at 2:00 p.m. to decorate your car in the field. The parade will start at 3:00 p.m. If you are not participating with a decorated car, you are still welcome to attend and watch the parade. The children will be wearing their costumes at this time brought from home.
Hoagie Sale
In conjunction with our Trunk or Treat Event we will be hosting our annual hoagie sale. Hoagie supplies are purchased from Moyer’s Catering and the hoagies are assembled by the Chesterbrook Academy management team. Hoagies will be ready for pickup at the end of the Trunk or Treat event. This is a great way to grab dinner for your family, prior to going out for the evening’s festivities. Please place your hoagie orders in the tuition drop box by Monday October 22nd with your cash payment.
