March News
We are marching right along into the month of March, and what a busy month it is going to be. We will start off with our Early Bird Registration Drive. This is where our current families are encouraged to enroll for the upcoming school year. By enrolling during this time frame you will then receive a portion of your registration fees back in the fall. During this time, it is imperative that you re-enroll or we can’t guarantee you a spot in the fall. Please watch for our fun lobby displays and more information coming soon.
To coincide and encourage you to enroll we are doing our 2nd annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday March 17th at our Open House. As a family if you enroll prior to or on this day your Pancake Breakfast will be free. This year’s menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage links, fresh fruit, and juice or milk. If you do not enroll but would like to join in on the breakfast fun, the fee is $5.00 a person.
As you are aware from our recent letter that was sent out via Tadpoles, our school has been chosen as one of the first 7 to become NAEYC Accredited in the entire Nobel Learning Communities Organization. This is a very exciting endeavor for us. NAEYC stands for National Accreditation for the Education of Children. NAEYC accredits early childhood programs according to health, safety and education standards. Upon becoming accredited by NAEYC we will then automatically become a STAR 4 school. If you would like more information on NAEYC I recommend you visit their website www.naeyc.org.
Summer camp is quickly approaching us. We are in the final stages of finalizing the Camp Calendars. Watch for them in your child’s mailbox soon.
Thank you to everyone for a great night of dancing at the Sweetheart Dance. The children all had a great time and the PTO’s involvement was a great deal of help to us. Our PTO committee is always looking for ideas and ways to get parents more involved at their meetings as well as suggested events. Please do not hesitate to attend a meeting and as always please support their events and ideas.
In March we will be collecting plastic eggs and items to fill the eggs with. Some suggested items may include stickers, small trinkets, candy, fun fruits, cheerios, party favors, coins, etc. Please remember whenever we host an event at school that involves products being brought from home, such as the egg hunt, we do not allow the children to open or partake in the products here at school. We encourage you as a family to review what your child is bringing home and making the decision if it is appropriate for them to have in your household. We do not promote the eating of candy at school. Also, while our school is peanut free, we cannot guarantee that candy that goes home meets our peanut standards. If you would like to donate to the egg hunt you can bring in eggs, egg stuffers, or bring in eggs stuffed and ready to go! The egg hunt will take place on March 29th along with the Spring Parties.
