Chesterbrook Academy November News
Thank you to everyone who supported the Trunk or Treat event. It was a huge success, with so many great costumes and trunk decor. I know the management team and I are already looking for ideas for next year. For our Open Door dental health month, we collected 40 pounds of tooth brushes, tooth paste, mouth wash, and dental floss. Thank you to all who donated.
The month of November is off to a busy start. We have a new teacher in our school Miss Raquel. Miss Raquel previously worked for Chesterbrook Academy and she chose to leave to pursue her education. Upon interviewing Raquel, she was very excited to share she found her passion as becoming a teacher she started working at Chesterbrook Academy previously. At this time she is working in Room # 4 with Miss Stacey and Miss Ashley.
This month our community service project will be accepting donations for the Perkiomen Valley ASPCA. We will be putting a full list of acceptable donations out in the near future. However, gently used towels, blankets, Pet Food, and Small Pet Supplies are a few acceptable items. Please place your donations in the lobby of either building in the designated area.
Please remember we are closed two days this month, Tuesday November 7, 2017, Election Day. On this day are teachers will be attending one of their two annual in-service day events. The other day is Thursday November 23, 2017 in observance of Thanksgiving Day. We are open on Friday November 24, 2017 with a modified schedule of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Please mark on your child’s door their intended schedule for Friday November 24th. Many of our teachers would like to have that day off to spend time with their families, and we can only assure this if we know who will be attending on this day. Thank you in advance for being contentious of this.
It’s inevitable snowy weather will be on its way soon. Please remember there are several ways you can be notified of the schools change in schedule due to inclement weather. They are Links to Home notification, Remind 101 notification, Channel 6 news, the school website, or calling the school and listening to the voicemail. If you have any questions about these notification methods please ask a member of the management team.
Child absences are important to us for many reasons. Did you know that you can report your child’s absence via the Links to Home app? We ask that if your child will be absent for a day you please let the school know, either via the app, a phone call or e-mail. By letting us know about your child’s absence we can track illnesses better, improve our staffing, and manage our staffing more efficiently.
