Hello, Summer!
WOW, where did the school year go? June is here and we are gearing up for a variety of fun-filled Summer experiences! Please feel free to pick up a preschool calendar located at our summer lobby display. Above and beyond fun summer plans, our Links to Learning curriculum will continue to offer skill-based lessons that are unique, age-appropriate and brought to life in a fun imaginative way. All age groups will participate in activities designed to deepen their understanding of the world around them while preparing students for the upcoming school year. In addition, graduating Pre-Kindergarten students attending this summer will continue to strengthen skills necessary for a successful start to Kindergarten, by participating in the Summer 2017 “Kindergarten Kick-Off” program. We want to be sure our graduates are confident and prepared for the opportunities they will face in their academic future. On that note, we are so amazed at the growth and academic success our Pre-K students have shown but are sad to see them go. We hope to continue watching them grow when they join us during summer, winter and spring breaks for camp. We also offer a camp for teacher work days throughout the school year. We don’t have to say goodbye, just see you soon!
Once again, thank you for sharing your beautiful children. We are grateful that you have chosen Chesterbrook Academy for your child’s early education!
With so much going on this month, please read below so you are connected to June events.
Have a great summer,
Melinda Willey, Principal
Nicole Pezzullo, Asst. Principal
PARENT REQUIREMENT: Signing your child in and out daily is a licensing policy and security measure, which ensures all children are accounted for while in our care.
Each day, you must sign your child in and out of school using the iPad located at the front desk. Please sign in before you drop your child off in the classroom and wait until you have picked up your child in the classroom before signing out for the day. This will enable our teachers to complete any last minute notations on your child’s daily report and ensure it is 100% accurate before sending.
All authorized pick up and drop off adults MUST have their own PIN and have their picture taken. If you have people on your list that have not set up their PIN or had their photo taken, please have them come into the school as soon as possible to get this done. We will not release the children to those individuals who do not have a PIN.

A Powerful Connection to a Lifetime of Learning
Your children experience the perfect balance of learning and play in a safe, nurturing environment. Our Links to Learning (LTL) curriculum prepares them for kindergarten by introducing concepts in reading, math, art, music and much more. You will receive progress updates, as well as ideas to continue learning at home.
You can expect to receive daily communication and pictures via email through our Links 2 Home program. And, we also encourage you to take a few moments each week to review your child’s classroom Links to Learning “Parent Board,” so you can “Link” to your child’s early education experiences. Posted are “Weekly Skills,” “Lesson Plan,” “Daily Schedule,” “Monthly Spanish” and “Learning Outcomes.”
SICK POLICY:
The purpose of our sick policy is to reduce the spread of illness among our students and to encourage full recuperation of sick children before they return to school. We depend on parents to assist us in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all of our children.
Children may be sent home if they have any concerning symptoms. Also, a child must be free of all of these symptoms for at least 24 hours before he/she can return to school. These symptoms include:
- A Fever of 100 degrees or more
- Vomiting within the previous 24-hour period
- Diarrhea within the previous 24-hour period
- Symptoms of a communicable disease
- Fussy, cranky behavior and not himself/ herself
Following an illness, a child may return to school once he/she has either been seen by a doctor or it has been determined that illness is not contagious. (A doctor’s clearance may be requested.) Please help us keep all of our children healthy by following these rules. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Thank you for your support!
TUITION: Tuition is due the 1st business day of every month. Accounts not paid in full by 12:00 pm the fifth business day of every month will automatically receive a late fee of $25. If tuition is not paid in full by the 7th business day of each month, your child may not attend until the balance is paid in its entirety. Failure to comply with tuition policies will result in a notice of dis-enrollment. If you’d like to sign up for our ACH program, which automatically pulls your monthly tuition from the account of your choice the 1st business day of every month, just let us know, and we will help get you enrolled.
ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS FEES: If your child is signed up to attend a specific enrichment program, the monthly fee must be paid in full the first week of every month, or your child may not attend the second week. Please understand, we are obligated to pay our physical fitness vendors promptly for their services. Credits will not be issued for missed classes due to absence or non-payment.
CATERED LUNCH PROGRAM ADVANCE ORDERING REQUIRED Monthly lunch order forms are available two weeks before each new month. Please be sure to turn your lunch order in with payment no later than the posted deadline. Late orders may not be honored. Pizza Friday orders for the entire month must also be turned in by the deadline. Ordering lunch is an optional service. You may also send lunch from home.
WE NEED YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND PATIENCE! PARKING – As many of you have experienced, finding a parking space between 8:45am & 9:15am and 11:45am & 12:15pm is quite challenging. We are asking families to please be considerate during drop-off and pick-up times by not parking in an area that is not a designated parking space. There is a field on the north side of the building that we have permission to use for parking. You are welcome to park there during drop-off and pick-up times. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE DUMPSTER. The Port St. Lucie Police Department will periodically patrol our parking lot during peak hours and issue citations for any vehicles that are parked illegally. If you have any concerns, please report them to the administration. Thank you!
