Dear Parents,
The month of May is truly the busiest month of the school year at Chesterbrook Academy. Between Teacher Appreciation Week, Pre-K Graduation Fundraisers, Mother’s Day, Summer Camp planning, and our end of school year progress reports our days are full! We do our best to make sure parent communication is consistent and prompt, so please be sure to read any notices that are sent home, as well as postings in our school lobby. Feel free to inquire at the front desk if you have any questions.
Student transitions to the next level will take place on June 6th after our VPK/Pre-K students graduate. You will be notified shortly, so you are able to prepare your child for what lies ahead.
Our Pre-K graduation ceremony will be held at the Port St. Lucie Community Center on Monday, June 5th at 10:00am & 12:30pm. Specific details have been sent home and are also posted in the front lobby. You are welcome to invite family and friends to join the celebration. Our Pre-K students have been practicing daily for their special day, and can’t wait to take center stage! Cap & gown orders will be in shortly. We wil let you know when to stop by the front desk for pick-up.
Pre-K graduation fundraisers begin today! The schedule is posted below. Your participation is very much appreciated and all proceeds will go towards graduation supplies and special treats for our graduates. You are more than welcome to send in cash if you want your child to purchase something during the school day for snack time. Please speak to the teacher for details.
Learning does not end at Chesterbrook Academy for our Pre-K students just because they have graduated. Links to Learning is designed to grow with children throughout the summer. Our Kindergarten Kick-Off curriculum challenges students entering Kindergarten in the fall, helping them to strengthen the skills necessary for a successful transition to elementary. Additional information on our Kindergarten Kick-Off curriculum goals is available NOW!
Elementary & Preschool camp is planned and summer packets are available! This year’s summer will be like no other. Our theme for school-age camp is “Agents of Summer” and “Mini Mysteries” for our preschoolers. Check out our summer display table for more information. Please register soon, space for elementary age camp is limited.

A Powerful Connection to a Lifetime of Learning
Your children experience the perfect balance of learning and play in a safe, nurturing environment. Our Links to Learning (LTL) curriculum prepares them for kindergarten by introducing concepts in reading, math, art, music and much more. You will receive progress updates, as well as ideas to continue learning at home.
You can expect to receive daily communication and pictures via email through our Links 2 Home program. And, we also encourage you to take a few moments each week to review your child’s classroom Links to Learning “Parent Board,” so you can “Link” to your child’s early education experiences. Posted are “Weekly Skills,” “Lesson Plan,” “Daily Schedule,” “Monthly Spanish” and “Learning Outcomes.”
PARENT REQUIREMENT: Signing your child in and out daily is not only a licensing and company policy but, an added security measure, which ensures all children are accounted for while in our care. PLEASE, BE DILIGENT ABOUT RECORDING YOUR CHILD’S ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES. Thank you!
SICK POLICY:
The purpose of our sick policy is to reduce the spread of illness among our students and to encourage full recuperation of sick children before they return to school. We depend on parents to assist us in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all of our children.
Children may be sent home if they have any concerning symptoms. Also, a child must be free of all of these symptoms for at least 24 hours before he/she can return to school. These symptoms include:
- A Fever of 100 degrees or more
- Vomiting within the previous 24-hour period
- Diarrhea within the previous 24-hour period
- Symptoms of a communicable disease
- Fussy, cranky behavior and not himself/ herself
Following an illness, a child may return to school once he/she has either been seen by a doctor or it has been determined that illness is not contagious. (A doctor’s clearance may be requested.) Please help us keep all of our children healthy by following these rules. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Thank you for your support!
TUITION: Tuition is due the 1st business day of every month. Accounts not paid in full by 12:00 pm the fifth business day of every month will automatically receive a late fee of $25. If tuition is not paid in full by the 7th business day of each month, your child may not attend until the balance is paid in its entirety. Failure to comply with tuition policies will result in a notice of dis-enrollment. If you’d like to sign up for our ACH program, which automatically pulls your monthly tuition from the account of your choice the 1st business day of every month, just let us know, and we will help get you enrolled.
ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS FEES: If your child is signed up to attend a specific enrichment program, the monthly fee must be paid in full the first week of every month, or your child may not attend the second week. Please understand, we are obligated to pay our physical fitness vendors promptly for their services. Credits will not be issued for missed classes due to absence or non-payment.
CATERED LUNCH PROGRAM ADVANCE ORDERING REQUIRED Monthly lunch order forms are available two weeks before each new month. Please be sure to turn your lunch order in with payment no later than the posted deadline. Late orders may not be honored. Pizza Friday orders for the entire month must also be turned in by the deadline. Ordering lunch is an optional service. You may also send lunch from home.
WE NEED YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND PATIENCE! PARKING – As many of you have experienced, finding a parking space between 8:45am & 9:15am and 11:45am & 12:15pm is quite challenging. We are asking families to please be considerate during drop-off and pick-up times by not parking in an area that is not a designated parking space. There is a field on the north side of the building that we have permission to use for parking. You are welcome to park there during drop-off and pick-up times. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE DUMPSTER. The Port St. Lucie Police Department will periodically patrol our parking lot during peak hours and issue citations for any vehicles that are parked illegally. If you have any concerns, please report them to the administration. Thank you!
