Dear Chesterbrook Families,
Spring is almost here! Please make sure to check your child’s cubby to ensure they have weather appropriate clothing. Our teachers will also be doing a bit of spring cleaning to ensure that our school is ready for our new coat of paint and brand new playground!
Teachers of the Month: This month we are celebrating two staff members who have been extremely helpful, positive and flexible. Congratulations to Mrs. Roslyn and Ms. Brenda. We truly appreciate your support in the classrooms and anywhere needed throughout the school!
2017-2018 Registration: Early Bird registration for the 2017-2018 school year as now ended. We will continue to accept enrollment applications as long as we have space available. Please note, any student who continues their enrollment after July 2, 2017 will need to re-register, this includes summer camp attendance for our graduating PreK and PreK2 students. If your child will be withdrawing from our program at any time please remember that we do require a 4-week written notice for withdrawals.
Fundraisers: Butter Braid fundraiser orders will be delivered by Friday, April 7th. If you have placed an order please plan on picking up your order by close of business on April 7th.
Spring Break Camp: Spring Break camp is available for our school-age students. If your child will be attending during spring break please stop by the office to sign-up.
Egg Hunt: We will be hosting our annual Egg Hunt on Friday, April 14th at 3pm. We are asking for donations to fill the eggs (candy, stickers, and/or other trinkets) for the children. Donations can be left in the box in the Principal’s office.
Earth Day Celebration: Earth Day is on Saturday, April 22nd. In observance of Earth Day we will have our annual Lady Bug Release on Friday, April 1st at 10am. Parents are invited to participate in this experience as well.
Week of the Young Child: The Week of the Young Child will be celebrated April 24th – 28th. This is an annual celebration begun in 1971 by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world’s largest early childhood education associations. The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. Listed below are the events we will be hosting for our students and families that week.
- Monday, April 24th – Music Monday: We will make musical instruments in the morning and have a concert at 3pm
- Tuesday, April 25th – Tasty Tuesday: Children will make their own snack
- Wednesday, April 26th – Work Together Wednesday: Classrooms will be creating a 3D sculpture/building structure out of recycled materials.
- Thursday, April 27th – Artsy Thursday: We will be learning about some famous artists and creating our own masterpieces
- Friday, April 28th – Family Friday: Family Picnic from 530-7pm. Meet other families at school while enjoying dinner, music, and some fun!
