In like a lion, out like a lamb? Only time will tell. We are hoping that we won’t see any March blizzards!
Our curriculum is literacy based, so we are always focused on books. March is an extra special month where it seems that we become even more literacy focused! We love celebrating Dr. Suess’ birthday as well as having the opportunity to dress like a favorite story book character. This month we will also be able to enjoy a Book Fair at our school. This is a wonderful opportunity to build your home libraries as well as a great chance for us to add books to our classroom libraries.
Books are amazing! If you are having a day where everything seems crazier than normal, sitting down with a book with your child is a great way to help everyone pause for a moment. Children love stories, but they also love books that are about real facts. I encourage you to let your child seek out some non-fiction books. They will absorb an amazing volume of facts about lots of things.
Here are some of our fun things we have planned for the month of March:
- 2nd: Dr Suess Day
- 2nd: Picture Day
- 3rd: Princess and Prince Day: Come dressed as a princess or prince.
- 3rd: Picture Day
- 7th: Cereal Day: What can we do with cereal?
- 8th: Dress as a Favorite Storybook character Day
- 10th: National Day of Awesomeness
- 12th: Daylight Savings Begin – Turn your clock ahead
- 13th: Book Fair will be available all week
- 14th: National Nutrition Month
- 15th: Happy Camper Book Fair, we want more S’more fun with books – Dress like a camper and enjoy a s’more
- 16th: We will make a school sized rainbow – Keep an eye out as to which color each class is to wear
- 17th: St Patrick’s Day – Wear Green
- 20th: First Day of Spring
- 21st: National Agriculture Day!
- 22nd: National Goof off Day
- 24th: It is National Act Happy Week – Wear a shirt that makes you feel happy
- 28th: Career Day – Dress for the career you would choose
- 30th: Pencil Day
- 31st: National Prom Day – We will have a prom, wear something fancy

Reminders
- Please be sure to wash your child’s hands upon entry into the classroom. We want to do our best to keep germs at bay!
- Please be sure all schedule changes have been approved by the office.
- Please sign your child in and out each day; the sheets are located in the foyer outside of the office.
- Please do not leave your vehicles running while you are inside the building.
