Weather-Related Closure Reminders
As a reminder, we do not always follow the closure schedule of the local public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our parents. If we must close, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced.
Holiday Giving
Each year, Chesterbrook Academy chooses a charity to support during the Winter Holiday Season. We have been successful running coat drives, canned food drives, book donations, etc. with the help of our students advertising these events with their creative flyers throughout the school.
This year we are eager to support Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CHOP is changing the way they accept toys and gifts for the children and families spending the holidays in the hospital.
We want to help make the holidays special for these children through a tax-deductible donation in support of the Child Life, Education and Creative Arts Therapy team at CHOP. This special team provides care and support year-round to children and families in the hospital. With thousands of children visiting CHOP every year, the Child Life team has an ongoing need for toys, craft supplies, books, video games and movies. In the absence of an in-person toy drive this year, the Child Life Department depends on monetary donations to provide holiday gifts to the many children spending the season in the hospital.
Help us raise money for this important cause by donating $10, $15 or $20 and help make the holidays a little brighter for a child using the link —>. CHOP Donate Here
Adult Coat Drive- 12/6 through 12/ 17
Please donate Adult Sized Winter Coats to help the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF). AHF is a global nonprofit organization providing cutting-edge medicine and advocacy to millions of people in 45 countries. We are currently the largest provider of HIV/AIDS medical care in the U.S. AHF funds its mission to rid the world of AIDS through a network of pharmacies, thrift stores, healthcare contracts, and other strategic partnerships. Generating new, innovative ways of treatment, prevention and advocacy have been the hallmark of our success. Our Philadelphia health center opened in 2018 and is located at 1211 Chestnut Street. We are collecting donated coats to help warm up our clients living with HIV this winter. Thank you, Gina (Emma S.’s mom from Intermediate B Class) for organizing this event!
