From Our Principal:
Happy July! We did it! We made it through the whole school year without any problems! Congratulations and thanks to all of you for helping us to abide by all protocols to keep everyone safe and healthy. What a great team.
We are slowly transitioning back to normal and will continue to do so as regulations loosen. We are happy to be able to offer you our regular hours again and to be able to welcome you all back into the building again for pick-up. Of course, we have heard from some of you that you actually preferred the car line! We do ask that you continue to adhere to the times you listed on the paper we asked you to complete for your summer schedule. We are basing the staff’s schedules around the times you listed. Any unplanned changes could lead us to being out of ratio, so please let us know if anything changes. Thank you.
Please remember to apply sunscreen to your child each morning before drop off. The teachers will re-apply the individual sunscreens you provided us in the afternoon before outdoor play. Also please remember that we have Water Play on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The children should come dressed in their swimsuits with an appropriate cover up or tee shirt and shorts over top. Boys can wear their swim trunks with a shirt. Every child should bring a towel, change of clothes including underwear, and appropriate footwear for outdoor play besides the water shoes that they might be wearing. Flip Flops are not permitted.
On days that there is a heat advisory, our outdoor time will be limited to early morning for an abbreviated time. Pitchers of water do accompany each class when they go out so we can keep the children hydrated. Once they return to the classroom, they are reminded to get another drink and use their water bottles whenever they need to do so.
For those children with allergies or dietary restrictions, please check the menu each day to make sure that what is being served is something that your child can have. If it is not, please make sure that you send in the protein or replacement for the part of lunch or snack that your child cannot have. Also please remember that we are a PEANUT FREE school. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
Now that you may enter the building again at pick-up time, please stop by the Summer Camp News Board and see all of the wonderful things that the children and teachers have been working on or participating in during these fun days of camp. There are great snapshots of Yogee Dance and our visit from Judy Tudy. Please remember that all parents are still required to wear a mask inside our building for pick-up and must remain in the hallway outside of your child’s classroom. If you have another child riding with you for pick-up, please call and we will be happy to bring your CBA student out to your car for you.
Please let us know when your child is going to be out for any reason. If you are going away on vacation and need a vacation form, please just ask or pick one up on the table as you walk out the door.
July 4th falls on a Sunday this year, so we will be closed on Monday, July 5th in observance of our country’s independence.
This summer, we will be taking part in a community project of “Kids Helping Kids.” Our chosen beneficiary this year is the Ronald McDonald House. A flyer will be coming home explaining how we are partnering with our other schools to send the much needed and appreciated supplies the Ronald McDonald House requested to keep families close when a child has to be hospitalized. Please know that you are not required to participate. This is a voluntary outreach program to help others if you would like to be a part of it.
If you have questions about anything, please feel free to call and ask or send Ms. Chrissy and me an email. We are here to help.
I wish you all a very happy and safe holiday! Thank you again for all you do to support our school. We all appreciate it!

Children learn numbers, letters, shapes and colors, but also the important social and emotional skills needed for success in kindergarten and beyond.
