From the Principal’s Desk…
Happy Summer to our family and friends! We are so excited to graduate over 48 children in our Pre-Kindergarten classes. They are definitely ready for the next stage of their development. We are even more excited to move into our summer camp program and provide the perfect balance of learning and play. Our summer camp calendars are filled with fun learning, a review of skills and a continued assessment of our children’s abilities and strengths.
We all know transition is a important step in our students during this special and social emotional stage. Our plan is to have the children transition together in August, so the majority of the class will move at once, most children are comforted by having their friends with them. As you know, our school is running at full capacity and new students will be joining us during the summer time what has limited us to have full transitions during the months of June and July. Some teachers will be assigned to other classrooms to cover summer schedules as well, and a few of our teachers will be taking the summer off, so please pay attention to that as well. Please remember that the classroom your child will be in over the summer may not necessarily be the classroom he/she will be in on the first day of school. We ask for your patience and understanding.
We are very excited about our school re-opening it’s door to parents. You will be receiving during the first week of June all the important information about how this step will be implemented. Our priority is the health and safe of the students, staff and parents.
We highly recommend to take advantage about our Parent Referral program, by referring a friend/neighbor/relative to our school, you will a have a discount in your tuition. Ask about it during pick up time and we will more than welcome to give you pertinent information.
Happy June!
Sincerely,
Vivian Robles-Principal
Yoy Kure-Assistant Principal

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT OF THE MONTH:
Pre-K students at Chesterbrook Academy in Hollywood, Florida actively participated in a book reading of “Eyes That Kiss In The Corners” written by Joanna Ho and illustrated by Dung Ho. This particular story book led to our inspiration of creating descriptive art which tells stories about the eyes of their very own mothers. Students used inventive spelling at the completion of eyes creation to better explain their original stories. Also, the intermediate students listened to the book “Drawn Together” by Minh Le Dan Santat to create awareness and celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. After listening to the story and observing the wonderful illustrations, the students were capable to understanding the plot of the story and the love between and grandpa and grandson beyond words.
