A Note From Our Principal
Thank you all for helping our school celebrate Earth Day. Together, students at our school released over 5000 ladybugs! Celebrating Earth Day provided our teachers with many opportunities to relate science, math and literacy concepts to everyday life. As we move into May, we are getting our classrooms ready for a summer of additional enrichment. We can’t wait to spend summer with you and your children!

In a Galaxy Far, Far Away…
Children were learning more than their abc’s and 123’s at Chesterbrook Academy Mallard Creek!
Help us celebrate STAR WARS DAY on May 4th, 2021 by wearing your favorite star wars shirt or dressing up as your favorite character.

May 5th—Cinco De Mayo and Mexican Culture
We celebrate Cinco De Mayo in celebration of Mexican heritage. It commemorates the date of the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. It is also known as Battle of Puebla Day (Source: https://www.hfcc.edu/news/2020/what-cinco-de-mayo-means).
Today, students will explore the child-friendly works of Mexican folk-art by Frida Kahlo such as “Viva La Vida Watermelons” , “Magnolias”, and “Self-Portrait”.
Also, the meaning of the colors on the Mexican flag, Mariachi music, the Jarabe dance, several Spanish greetings/ vocabulary words along with our Spanish curriculum, and the actual meaning of Cinco De Mayo.
Please enjoy a snack of chips and salsa at pick-up time and wear the colors of the Mexican flag!
May 9th- Muffins For Mom
Mom’s and anyone with a motherly spirit, grab a muffin and some tea in the morning at drop-off and return in the afternoon for our Drive-Through Mother’s Day event!
The Drive-through starts at 4 pm, and we will have a socially distanced photo booth and grab-n-go refreshment area.
Students are encouraged to wear their mom’s favorite color and have been working on gifts!!
May 31st — CLOSED FOR MEMORIAL DAY
Memorial Day formally known as Decoration Day, is a holiday observed yearly on the last Monday of May. Memorial Day is a day that commemorates all the men and women who have given their lives while serving in the military for the United States of America. Pre-K Graduation
“The World is a Rainbow”
Our students have been working hard on songs, artwork, and selected readings to share with you. We will celebrate the accomplishments of our Pre-K students with safety as our guide. Pre-K teachers will be sending more information home shortly for our ceremony on June 11th, 2021.
Summer Camp
Calling all EPIC EXPLORERS!!
We are now enrolling for our 2021 Pre-School Summer Camp Program!
Our Camp program offers the ability to explore fun themes while continuing to experience hands-on activities and integrate our Links-to-Learning Curriculum.
This year, we are able to have vendors return to further enrich our program. These visits will be hosted outside and socially distanced.
Summer Camp is June 7th – August 20th, 2021, and will serve ages 12 months to 5 years (children who have not been Kindergarten). More information to come in our Summer Camp Brochure.
