A Note From Our Principal,
We hope that you all had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving with loved ones. As the winter holidays approach, we have many special activities planned for our students and look forward to spending the season with them. We’ve also enclosed several important winter and holiday reminders in this newsletter. Please read through it carefully and reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Happy holidays!
Sincerely,
Donna Baus, M.Ed.
School Closure Reminders
As a reminder, we do not always follow the closure schedule of the local public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our working parents. If we must close for any reason, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced. We also post notifications on our website.
Winter Clothing Reminder
If you’ve not already done so, please check with your child’s teachers to ensure they have an extra set of weather appropriate clothes. Students also need to come to school each day with a jacket and dressed warmly enough to play outside for part of the day. We want everyone to be able to participate! Boots are a good idea too!
Holiday Closures
Our school is closed on December 25th for Christmas Day and January 1st for New Year’s Day. On December 24th – We will be closing at 3:00 p.m. so the teachers have a chance to get home and start their holiday festivities with their families.
Holiday Store
We are bringing back out annual Holiday Shopping event for the students. As in the past each gift is only $2.00. More information will be coming home with your child.
Light Up Limerick
Does the front of your home have some décor? Did you send us a picture and request the elves to stop by and drop off a book for your child? If not please email Miss Donna for your visit confirmation.
Winter Break Camp
We will be holding Winter Break Camp for our school-age students from December 21st – December 31st. Students will participate in community service activities, STEAM learning opportunities, holiday themed projects and virtual activities. Students may attend all or part of Winter Break Camp, please let us know by December 14thif your child will be attending.
Classroom Holiday Celebrations—Monday, December 21s
Through the month of December, our classes will be learning about different winter holidays and customs. On Monday, December 21st, our students will showcase their learning and the holiday décor they’ve created with a classroom celebration. Students will be celebrating with story time, crafts and a special snack. We will miss having parents attend this year’s holiday celebration and know that you all will enjoy the holiday crafts that your student brings home! Each classroom teacher will be sending out a Zoom Link and Time for you to log on and receive a special holiday wish from your child and their classmates.
Holiday Giving Project
We will be partnering with the Open Door in Limerick this year again and adopting 2 local families who are in need. More information will be coming your way shortly – we are awaiting the information and dates from the helpers at Open Door
