A Note From Our Principal
We hope that you all had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving with loved ones. As the winter holidays approach, we have many special activities planned for our students and look forward to spending the season with them. We’ve also enclosed several important winter and holiday reminders in this newsletter. Please read through it carefully and reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Happy holidays!
Sincerely,
Michelle
School Closure Reminders
As a reminder, we do not always follow the closure schedule of the local public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our working parents. If we must close for any reason, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced. We also post notifications on our website.
Winter Clothing Reminder
If you’ve not already done so, please check your child’s cubby to ensure they have an extra set of weather appropriate clothes. Students also need to come to school each day with a jacket and dressed warmly enough to play outside for part of the day. We want everyone to be able to participate!
Holiday Closures
Our school is closed on December 25th for Christmas Day and January 1st for New Year’s Day.
Holiday Giving Project
This holiday season Chesterbrook Academy of North Wales is running a donation drive to support Mission Kids. This gives us the opportunity to have a discussion with our students and
children about other children whose needs are greater than their own. It is also a great way for us to model empathy, especially during these unprecedented times.
Mission Kids is a local non-profit organization providing multidisciplinary care to alleged victims of sexual and physical abuse. Mission Kids joins a nationwide network of child-focused care
facilities designed in accordance with standards established by the National Children’s Alliance and the U.S. Department of Justice. Their ultimate goal is to provide a broad range of support
services to child victims and their caregivers in an environment that encourages healing and facilitates better prosecution of alleged offenders. We will be collecting items for Mission Kids beginning November 16th through December 11th.
This is a list of the items that are most needed:
• Juice Boxes and/or small individual bottled water
• Individually Wrapped Healthy Snacks (no peanuts) Such as: crackers, pretzels, cookies, chips, etc.
• Paper Towels
• Sanitizing Wipes
Our students will also be making holiday cards for “Troopers Mom’s” . These cards will be sent to our soldiers serving overseas. We are so excited to be participating in both of these events.
