Parade
Does anyone remember last year, when we were SO upset that the rain could get in the way of the parade?! JOKES ON US, 2020!We’ve been working for a while to figure out a safe way to host our Halloween parade this year. We’ve tried different paths, tested different timings, used different methods for social distancing, roleplayed some possibilities, etc. and we’ve decided to have a virtual parade this year.
Each classroom will have a designated time during the day to show off thier costumes to thier friends and teachers on a runway we will create on site. A member of the admin team will be recording and we will post each classes video to a smore for viewing. Thank you for understanding.
In the afternoon, the classrooms can still have a fall-festival-celebration. As always, these are planned yealy per classroom. Stay tuned for more information from the teachers!
** Participation in the parade is by no means mandatory. If you would like your child to particpate in the parade please send their costume into school in a plastic bag on Friday, October 30th and we will send it home in the afternoon. **
October Newsletter 2020
A Note from Our Principal
Hello Chesterbrook Academy Families and Happy October!
Fall is in full swing and our students are enjoying the extra outdoor time, nature walks and seasonal curriculum activities. We are planning a few fun fall themed activities for our students this month and are excited to share photos with you all through Links 2 Home.
Thank you to so many who were able to participate in the survey we sent out last month. There were so many kind words that we were able to share with the staff and great recommendations on how we can continue to make our school the best we can be!
One of the biggest challenges with the COVID changes in our school has been finding ways to improve parent-admin-teacher communication. As a small step towards adding more communication, I will be holding “office hours” through zoom every Wednesday from 5:30 – 6:30. This time can be used to ask questions, virtually see the classrooms, or just to chat it up 😉
As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Respectfully,
Sara Connor
Principal

Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Each year every classroom gets a large pumpkin to decorate and be put on display. During the last week of October all pumpkins will be outfront of our building for your viewing pleasure. Instead of voting with tickets, this we’ll be sending out a survey monkey to all parents. Please vote for your favorite pumpkin design and whoever’s pumpkin gets the most votes wins a pizza party!A friendly reminder that we use the honor system here at CBA. The pumpkins will be anonymous … no cheating with these votes! 😉
