Welcome to September. Happy Back to School Month! We had a wonderful summer here at Chesterbrook Academy, considering the pandemic. Thank you for completing your online weekly camp surveys and providing us with feedback. While this summer was not the traditional look and feel for us, the teachers all did a wonderful job with assisting the children in social distancing, keeping the children actively engaged in activities and fun learning experiments.
The children loved seeing our special local Heroes during the parade on Friday August 14th. Their planning, packing lunches and creating invites all led up to this special day. Thank you to everyone who participated through donations, decorating their car, or coming to help us cheer. The Royersford Fire Department posted a great Thank You Letter on their Facebook page and website for us! You can see it here: Royersford Fire Department.
With Back to School not being traditional, like everything else it seems in 2020, we have added the Club Connect program. This program is designed to assist children and parents on days that their elementary aged child’s school is closed. Our staff are ready to support and partner with the teachers in the surrounding school districts as a support and supplement to the online/virtual learning.
Traditionally during the month of September, we would host Picture Day. At this time, we have cancelled picture day for the safety of our staff and students. We will let you know when we can reschedule it. Also, during the month of September we typically host a Scholastic Book Fair. This has been altered and will be an online book fair! More information will be coming your way soon.
We have great news! Starting on Monday September 14th – the school will be open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We are going to ease back into providing lunch daily as well. Starting on Monday September 14th, we will be providing lunch for the students every Monday and Friday. The menu is posted on the website as a reminder.
We understand that it is sometimes hard to feel a connection to your child’s classroom, since we cannot allow you to enter the building. Starting in September we will be putting bulletin boards on display in the front of our buildings. Building A ‘s Infant Room window will have a new display each Monday that is created by the Toddler Room or Infant Room, this window is located closest to the field. Pre-K/Pre-K2 and Kindergarten Enrichment will share the last window on the left of Building B. These classes will rotate the window on a weekly basis. Beginners and Intermediates will have a board displayed outside of building A and Kindergarten and Club Connect will be displaying a Board outside of Building B. We hope that this gives you a greater sense of what is occurring inside of each classroom.
Everyone loves a great birthday treat! Please do not forget if your child will be celebrating their birthday at school with a special snack to share with their friends, we ask that you let the teachers know as soon as possible, so we can obtain permission from the other children’s parents, prior to serving the snack.
