Summer is in full swing and we are having a great time teaching and learning with our students! This month we are celebrating Independence Day and campers are jumping into action, playing games, exploring nature, being creative, and participating in other fun summer-themed activities. Each week students will participate in hands-on science experiments and cooking projects, as well as take a virtual field trip. Virtual field trips this month will teach our older students about the space center, dinosaurs, the railroad, the zoo and the airport.
Water play is a great way we stay cool and have fun throughout the summer. Students enjoy playing in the sprinkler, water relay races and water games such as Drip, Drip Drop! On the days your child has water play, please send your child to school in their bathing suit with sunscreen applied. Don’t forget to pack a towel, water shoes, water diaper and a full change of clothes.

With summer here and states beginning to ease restrictions, you might begin thinking about playdates for your child again. The CDC recommends families keep play groups small, practice social distancing, meet outdoors, and sanitize hands frequently.
