Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed special quality time with friends and family.  I also hope you had a little time to relax and recoup after all of the hustle and bustle leading up to your celebrations.  I know we sure were busy here-yet loved every minute of it.  The children worked so hard and performed so well at the Snowflake Festival. Many thanks again to all of you for your support and participation in our activities and for the special kindnesses and gifts you gave us during the holidays.  We appreciate all you do.

I would like to extend a huge Chesterbrook welcome to Ms. Stefanie who has joined our staff.  Ms.Stefanie recently moved back here from South Carolina and has proven to be a wonderful addition to our Pre-K classroom, assisting Ms. Beth.

Our Chesterbrook Clothing Sale runs until January 12th for anyone who is interested in purchasing any shirts or sweatshirts, etc.  I just received a few samples in case you would like to check out the sizes or material.

Little Caesar’s Pizza Sale is coming soon.  I know many of you like that event and enjoy them at this time of year.  Please remember that your participation in any of these sales is completely voluntary.  We do not want you to feel pressured in any way.  We like to offer things that we think you will enjoy or that can make your life a little easier.

In the interest of safety, please remember to turn your car engines off when dropping off and picking up your children.  Unattended vehicles left running can pose a potential problem, and we don’t want anyone to get hurt.

Please make sure your children have several weather appropriate changes of clothes in his/her cubby for any unexpected accidents or spills. Please remember extra underwear and socks as well.

When bad weather threatens to hit us, please watch ABC 6 for any updates on our opening delays or early dismissals.  In addition, we will post any changes on Tadpoles.

On January 2nd, I will begin printing out all of your Year End Statements for tax purposes, so keep an eye out in your child’s folder for these important documents.  Thank you!

5 Ways to Boost Your Toddler’s Language Development

As children begin the toddler stage, they respond to familiar words by shouting, gesturing or reaching for objects.
