Dear Parents,
We hope your children are enjoying their fall lessons, pumpkin themed projects, and classroom activities. October was a fun and busy month! Our students enjoyed fun seasonal projects, carved and decorated pumpkins, learned about fire safety and enjoyed our school Halloween parade and parties. Our most popular annual event, Trunk or Treat, was a hit! It was so nice to see our Chesterbrook families and kids having fun together on this festive evening.
This month we are focusing on gratitude and connecting with our community. As part of this focus we are busily preparing for our Holiday Giving campaign. Our Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive will be going from November 1st through November 22nd. Beginning Friday, November 1st you will see a drop-off box for non-perishable food items in the lobby. Donations will be delivered to the local food bank on Friday, November 22nd. We are also preparing for our Holiday Giving Tree when we partner with a local organization to give to those in need for the holidays. Thank you very much for being so generous, your enthusiastic participation in our seasonal events is very much appreciated.
Once again we will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair. Books will be displayed in the school lobby and hallway beginning November 4th through November 8th. It’s a great opportunity to find the best books for your child and gifts for the holidays.
Our teachers are enthusiastic about developing lifelong learners. We help our teachers keep current with the latest techniques during our Professional Development Day where internal and external trainers and consultants lead our workshops. Each staff member is required by the state of Florida to accomplish ten or more hours of training each year. Chesterbrook Academy closes its doors twice a year for professional development. We chose Veteran’s Day, 11/11 and President’s Day 2/17 as our training days because public schools, banks, and government offices being closed. We look forward to sharing our learning experiences and appreciate your support as we empower our teachers to meet the needs of your children better.
