Last month we kicked off another great school year, and we are all excited to watch how our children grow and progress through the many learning goals set up for them this year. The teachers have been busy planning many fun and creative activities for the children to enjoy as they learn. October is always a busy month as we usher in a new season, enjoy extra outdoor time taking nature walks, and participating in seasonal curriculum activities. Our extracurricular activities are also back in full swing. Junior Gym and Soccer Shots have started. All of the coaches are looking forward to a fabulous year and have commented on how well each child is doing.
The Chalfont Fire Company is visiting us on October 10th at 10 am to help us celebrate Fire Prevention week. Remember to practice a drill at home and designate a meeting spot. It is also time to check your smoke detectors! We had a fire drill last week, and the children did great.
Our annual Halloween Parade will be held on October 31at at 4:00 pm. Parents are invited and encouraged to come and walk with us as we make our way to New Seasons to share our Halloween Fun with the residents there.
Fall Cubby Refresh
Our teachers have many fun fun outdoor activities planned for our students this month. Please check your child’s cubby and ensure that his/her extra sets of clothing are weather appropriate so he/she can participate in everything planned for their class.
Your Opinion Matters
Our Parent Survey is launching soon, and we would appreciate you spending a few minutes to take the survey. You will receive an invitation by email on 10/2. Please let us know if you do not receive it. Thank you. I would also like to take this opportunity to reiterate what I always try to tell you. Your opinion matters, and I would always want you to feel comfortable enough to come talk to me about anything. It is so much easier to correct a misunderstanding when it is little than letting it sit and fester. We appreciate hearing from you and being able to improve anything that is not working well. For example, some people thought that our Summer Camp had fewer field trips than last year. The truth is we actually had more outings! Ms. Mueller and I sat down and compared the calendars from years past to the one from this year. Ms. Mueller tries to vary the places where we go because some children might have been in the camp program the year before and had already gone to those places with us. I give all of the credit to Ms. Mueller for her careful planning and consideration of what the children might enjoy. She works hard on it, and I know she would have liked it if someone would have personally approached about their concern so she could clear it up immediately and shed a different perspective. Safety is another big factor that we have to keep in mind when planning. Taking 20-30 children is a lot different than just taking one or a family. We take our responsibility to you and your children very seriously. Thank you for trusting us to do the right things for all.
While speaking of opinions-don’t forget to make those referrals! Credit is given to all families who refer someone to our school. Once the referrd family has enrolled and completed the required attendance period, you will receive tuition credit. Feel free to ask any of us about it and pick up the information at the front desk. Thank you!
Oh, and thank you to those who recommend us on FaceBook, Community Chatter, Chalfont Community Page, etc. It means a lot to all of us to hear that what we are doing and trying to do makes a difference with you as well. We like Happy!
