A Note From Our Principal
Dear Chesterbrook Academy Families,
Where did the month of September go??? We have had so much learning fun in this back to school time that the month of September has flown by. October is upon us and we are so excited for the learning fun to continue. Fall is my favorite season because of the plethora of sensory experiences the students get to encounter. Seeing the leaves change color. Hearing the crunch of the leaves as we step on them. Feeling the crisp cool air and the insides of slimy pumpkins. Smelling the scents of pies baking. And tasting the delicious flavors of apple and pumpkin. Throughout the month, teachers will use the fall season to boost learning, from sorting and graphing leaves by color to exploring the insides of a pumpkin and planting pumpkin seeds to watch them grow and experience firsthand the life cycle of a plant.
We have many fun activities planned throughout the month of October including our Fall Harvest Parade and party on Wednesday, October 30th at 4 pm. Pumpkin week is the week of October 21st. We are so excited to learn all about pumpkins. Please bring in a pumpkin to decorate by Friday, October 25th . Teachers will provide all the supplies, all you need is to bring in a small pumpkin! We use the decorated pumpkins to make a pathway for our parade!
Just an early reminder that our school will be closed on Monday, November 11th for our Annual Teacher Inservice Day!
Our Extra Fun Extra Curricular activities will continue throughout October:
Soccer Shots – Wednesdays at 9:30 am
Lil’ Sports – Tuesdays at 9:30 am
Wee Little Arts -Wednesdays at 10 am
As you can see, we have lots of fun activities going on throughout the month of October. Don’t miss out on any of the learning fun!

Fall Cubby Refresh
Our teachers have many fun outdoor activities planned for our students this month. Please check your child’s cubby and ensure that their extra set of clothes is weather appropriate so that your child can participate in everything planned for their class. Please make sure that your child has a complete change of clothes including socks, underwear, and spare shoes if your child is potty training. Also, please remember that it can be chilly on the playground in the mornings so make sure your child has a sweatshirt or light jacket please.

Our parent survey is launching soon and we’d appreciate you spending a few minutes to take the survey. You will receive an invitation by email on October 2nd. Please let us know if you do not receive it!
