From the Office of the Principal
August has come and gone, so our summer here at Chesterbrook Academy is over, and we look forward to the 2019-2020 school year! We have just started our first week of school and the children are adjusting well to their new classrooms. Saying goodbye every morning is getting easier for all! It has been great to see our returning students move to the next level as well as the many new families who have joined our Chesterbrook Academy family for this school year. Thank you all for your continued support and trust. We are committed to providing your children with the best educational opportunities possible and look forward to everything the 2019-2020 school year has in store for us.
Our teachers have a busy fall planned, so please remember to review parent boards, lobby displays as well as our school website so that you are connected with all that is happening at school.
We have many events going in during the month of September. We enjoyed our Labor Day Holiday on Monday, September 2. Beginning this week, our Links to Learning curriculum will be in full swing. You will begin to see evidence of what your child is learning at school on hallway and classroom education boards. Although a variety of activities take place daily in all age groups and displayed and sent home at the end of every month, not all learning ends with a tangible product–sometimes it’s a learning experience. For this reason, teachers are committed to communicating with you daily, weekly, monthly about the process of learning that is going on in their classroom, especially through our Links 2 Home app (available at the App Store as well as Android phones). We also like to take pictures so you can see the activities your child participated in to learn a particular skill. Be on the lookout….hallway bulletin boards will start popping up showing your child at work and play.
We will have Lifetouch Preschool Portraits here to take Fall Portraits of the children. Infants, Toddlers, 2-year-olds, and siblings will take pictures on Thursday, September 12, and 3-year-olds and PreK classes will take pictures on Friday, September 13. If sibling pictures and your children’s pictures are on different days, we can make sure to get their pictures taken on the same day to make it more convenient–please see someone at the front to make that arrangement. Also, Lifetouch picture forms will be going out on Friday, September 6, so please make sure that your picture forms are turned in with your background and additional preferences by Wednesday, September 11. We will also have our Scholastic Book Fair during the week of September 23-27, right here in the school lobby. The more books and items that are sold, the more books we get for the classrooms!
We have had Demo Days for all of our potential ancillary programs, including Soccer Shots (Wednesday mornings), Music for Little Ones (Monday afternoons), Shining Stars Drama/Theatre Program (Tuesday mornings), Daisy Dance (Monday mornings), and Fit Kids (Thursday mornings). These programs will be starting up next week, and there are still plenty of spots left in all of these programs! Please make sure to get brochures and sign-up forms for each program in the lobby.
As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Kindest Regards,
William Gordon, Principal

Chesterbrook Academy Parent Referral Program
If there’s one thing parents love to do, it’s talk about their children’s successes. When friends ask you about your child’s experiences at Chesterbrook Academy, what type of success stories do you share? Do you mention the personal and educational discoveries your child is making thanks to our advanced curriculum? Do you talk about the new levels of self and social confidence your child has gained thanks to our encouraging atmosphere? Whatever glowing reports you deliver about how your child is growing with his or her education, we couldn’t be more appreciative. In fact, we’d like to show you just how thankful we are for your endorsements. Now when you tell other parents about our school, you can become a Chesterbrook Academy Ambassador.
For every new child you refer who enrolls at our school for three months, you’ll receive one FREE week of tuition for your child.
It’s our way of saying thanks for doing what comes naturally – singing the praises of your child and sharing your experiences with the Chesterbrook Academy difference. If you have any questions about how you can become a Chesterbrook Academy Ambassador, please contact an administrator.
Books are a great way to enrich your child’s understanding and acceptance of diverse cultures. With this foundation in the preschool years, children have more social confidence and success in interacting with many different types of people as they progress through elementary school and beyond.
