A Note From Our Principal,
Summer has come to an end and another school year is upon us. We’d like to extend a warm welcome to our new families, and a sincere thank you to returning families and those that chose to spend their summer with us. We enjoyed making memories with your children! We recognize that this is a busy time for many families and are using this month’s school newsletter to include reminders on school closures, communication, security and more. Please read through this newsletter carefully, and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

- Thanksgiving Day
- Day After Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve– closed at 12:30
- Christmas
- New Year’s Eve– closed at 12:30
- New Year’s Day
- President’s Day (District-wide Professional Development Day)
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
You can access our school year calendar 2019-2020 Preschool School Year Calendar for a printable version to use as a reference.
Links 2 Home
If you’re not currently receiving photos and daily reports for your child you can easily change this by downloading the Links 2 Home app on your phone. Just type ‘Links 2 Home’ in the search bar for the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. After downloading Links 2 Home you can register with the same email address that you used to enroll your child in our school. Links 2 Home also allows you to leave drop-off notes for your child and notify your child’s teacher of absences. If you’re having issues accessing Links 2 Home please let us know.
Security Reminders
With so many new families starting in the fall, this is a great time to review security procedures. We have a master door code to open the vestibule door, which otherwise is kept closed and locked. Please do not let people in the building unless you know them personally. They should either have the door code or ring the door bell. This is a safety measure for everyone. Remember to sign your child in and out at the front desk on the iPad, using your unique four-digit PIN. You should sign your child in upon entry into the building, and sign them out after you first pick them up in the classroom. That allows the teachers to acknowledge that you are an authorized pick up person in our system. Lastly, please do NOT allow your child to enter the front door code or the iPad PIN. These are important safety measures, and not toys. I know it’s fun for them, but it is meant for adults only. Thanks so much for your cooperation.
Curriculum Night
Scheduled for Wednesday, September 25th from 6:30-7:30 pm, this is a parent-only meeting, so other arrangements should be made for child care. This is an important meeting so that parents can find out more about our curricular goals in their child’s new classroom, and set individual goals for their child, based on his/her needs. See your child’s teacher with questions.
School Picture Day
It’s time to get spiffed up for fall pictures! Lifetouch Portrait Days will be on Thursday, October 10th and Friday, October 11th. Fall pictures are individual and siblings only; group class pictures are scheduled in the spring. More info will come home later this month. Please send your student to school in the clothes you want them to wear for their photo. All photos will be taken before lunch and nap time to ensure optimal cuteness.
Love our school? Leave us a review!
In today’s connected world, many families turn to online reviews to learn more about schools for their children. That is why we are asking you to take a few minutes to visit our school profile on Yelp, Google or GreatSchools to share the wonderful experiences you have had with our school. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you! Also, if you refer a family (someone you know personally or even someone you connect with in an on-line parent’s group, etc.) you will get one free week’s tuition (for one child) after the new family has attended for 90 days. That free week can be “banked” for a future date within the same school year, and your child does NOT have to be absent in order to use it. Just make sure the referred family lists your name when they come in for a tour.
Communication is key!
We want all our families to be “in the know” so here are a lot of ways we help you stay informed about what your child is doing throughout the week or month, as well as important school news.
- Links 2 Home— you will receive photos and daily reports, but can also leave drop off notes, mark your child absent, and get personal reminders from teachers. Daily goals, letters of the week, Book of the Week, etc. are all posted in the app, so please take a second to read your child’s daily report every day.
- Texts and/or Emails— I will send out quick texts as needed to share important news that’s time-sensitive, such as theme days, special event reminders, and weather related info. Emails will be sent for less urgent, but still important, information. Please make sure you are receiving BOTH texts and emails from the preschool.
- Your Child’s Cubby— flyers, invitations, reminders, and other documents are sent home via your child’s cubby, so please make sure you are checking (and cleaning them out!) daily.
- End of the Month Folders— here you can find several examples of your child’s projects, along with an activity descriptor which highlights the curricular links for each activity. Please return the folder for use the next month.
- Parent Reports— sent home three times per school year (November, February & May) to track your child’s progress and fun milestones.
- Newsletters— sent out monthly during the school year.
- Parent Boards— in each classroom. This is where your child’s teacher will post lesson plans, schedules, bios, and other reminders.
- Parent Information Bulletin Board, located in the lobby– This is a “self-service” spot to pick up calendars, menus, medication permission forms, blank immunization forms, info about specialty classes, and the monthly product recall list.
As you can see, there are a lot of ways our families can make sure they are well-informed and prepared for everything from a snow storm to Crazy Sock Day!
Can’t wait to see all this school year has to offer these kiddos! It’s going to be a great one.
