Dear families,
Thank you all for helping us to celebrate the Week of the Young Child and Earth Day last month. Together at our school, our students helped to replant our gardens and to add their own special touch by adding their family rocks. Celebrating Earth Day as a community provides our teachers with many opportunities to relate science, math, and literacy concepts to everyday life.
As we move into May, we are getting our classrooms ready for a summer of additional enrichment activities for our preschool students and summer camp for our school-age students. We can’t wait to spend summer with you and your children and hope you’ll join us for some of our family events that we have planned! Please check your child’s cubby for the summer camp information packet.
In celebration of Mother’s Day we will be have Muffins for Moms on May 10th in the lobby during drop off. We appreciate every one of our mothers and mother figures that are a part of our student’s lives. You are amazing! Another date to remember is May 27th, as we will be closed for Memorial Day.
We love our teachers and we will be celebrating them during Teacher Appreciation Week May 6-10th. Be on the lookout for more information this week.
Please check your child’s cubby to make sure that they have extra clothes that are weather appropriate and take home all winter items. As a reminder, student’s belongings need to fit inside of their Chesterbrook bags. Also, make sure that you are bringing rest items home weekly to wash.
With Friendly Greetings,
Sandra Brooks, Interim Principal
Yasmine Newsome, Assistant Principal
