Dear Parents,
What an exciting month we have in store! We are finally through the cold and dreary days of winter and can begin to look forward to the warm and sunny days of spring. With this warm weather comes great opportunities to move our learning outside throughout the day. Please ensure that your child’s teacher has sunscreen and an updated sunscreen permission form as we begin to take advantage of sunny days.
Warm weather also means that it is time to start planning for summer camp! We have so many fun and exciting activities planned this summer. Weekly visits from the ice cream truck, water days, and special visitors are just a few of the things all of our classes can look forward to. Our school age campers will also be taking field trips to local attractions on a regular basis. Please see the office if you are interested in signing up your school age children for summer camp.
We are so excited to see how many of you participated in the Scholastic Book Fair. The number of books in a child’s home is one of the earliest indicators of success in reading later in life. Your purchases not only provided valuable reading materials for your own family, but also helped provide books for each and every one of our classrooms. Thank you!
We will be having our annual East Egg hunt on Wednesday, April 17th. Each class will have a designated time and area to hunt for Easter eggs with their teachers and friends. We are hoping the weather cooperates, but if not, we have a back-up plan!
We will also be Celebrating Earth Day on Monday, April 22nd by releasing thousands of ladybugs. Besides being cute, these friendly critters eat crop-destroying aphids and other pests. We will be making lady bug hats and encouraging everyone to wear red and black as we send the ladybugs off on their new journey.
In other news, the entire interior of the building will be painted this month. We are so excited to get a fresh new look in the spaces where your children learn and grow. We will be communicating with families from each classroom to you let know when your child’s room will be painted and where children will be located during that time.
As always, thank you for continuing to entrust us with your children each and every day.
