From the Office of the Principal
It’s hard to believe it’s already April because 2019 is flying by! We hope everyone has enjoyed the spring weather when it has been around. March has come and gone, but let’s take a look back at the exciting things that happened during the month. During the first week of March, we celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday and had Mardi Gras parties and a parade with beads, masks, and king cake on Tuesday, March 5! Sunday, March 10 marked the beginning of Daylight Savings Time. We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day on Friday, March 15 with class parties and activities, and we welcomed Spring on Wednesday, March 20. We held our Dino-Mite Spring Book Fair during the week of March 18-22, and we were able to get over $750 worth of books! On Tuesday, March 19 and Wednesday, March 20, Lifetouch Preschool Portraits was here to take pictures of all the children. All the individual portraits, class pictures, sibling portraits, and cap and gown portraits for our graduates came out wonderfully! Finally, we held our Spring Open House for all prospective families on Saturday, March 23. I don’t know about everyone else, but I am exhausted just reading that.
We look forward to April as well! During the week of April 8-12, we will be celebrating the Week of the Young Child! The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, and families. We’re so excited for a week long celebration of our youngest learners! We will have fun things for all the children to do throughout the week with a different theme every day! Please see the schedule later in the newsletter. On Thursday, April 18, we will have Egg Hunts for all preschool classrooms to celebrate Easter! The, on Monday, April 22, we will have our Annual Ladybug Release at 3:30 pm! We will be releasing 5,000 ladybugs into nature, and families are invited to attend! Finally, on Tuesday, April 30, Links to Learning folders will go home.
As always, we will always be here to help you in any way possible if you have any questions or concerns.
