Dear Chesterbrook Parent-
We are in December already! Wow! Time has really flown by! We hope 2018 has been a good year filled with many blessings and amazing opportunities for all of our Chesterbrook families. There is something magical about this time of the year. It is really the BEST time of the year as we celebrate the holiday season with our families and friends. In this season of giving, we are organizing a special “Make–A-Wish” event that will give all of our families the opportunity to give to “Make-A-Wish” foundation. Make-AWish foundation creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Wishes inspire and have the power to change lives. Most importantly, wishes improve a child’s quality of life, giving them a better chance of recovering.
We have set aside December 10-14 to make wishes happen to children with critical illnesses and make their quality of life better. All week long we will have opportunities for families to help raise money for Make-A-Wish. We hope our families will participate during this season of giving. 100% of donations will go to Make-A-Wish foundation! Our goal is to raise $700. Together with other Charlotte area Chesterbrook academy, we raised $14,000 last year for Make-A-Wish foundation.
Events for the week of Make-A-Wish: (December 10-14)
- Tuesday, Dec. 11: Decorate Your Teacher: buy a bow for your child and they will decorate their teacher. Each bow is $1
- Wednesday, Dec. 12th: Wear your pajama day!
- Picture with Santa! ($10 per child) Friday, December 14th.
**December 10-14: Silent Auction- displayed all week in the lobby
- Canvas Painting– designed and created by our children and teachers. Find a canvas painting you like and make a bid. The highest bid will win canvas painting.
- A Raffle: Raffle off some prizes donated by local business. Stop by to buy a raffle ticket to win the prize.
Friday, December 21st: “Decorate Christmas Cookies” with Mom & Dad
As a kick-off to Make-A-Wish event, starting the week of December 4th, our children will participate in Macy’s Make-A-Wish “Believe” campaign. Our children will write letters or draw pictures to send to Santa. For every letter or picture, Macy’s will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish, up to $1 million dollars, to grant wishes to children with critical illnesses. This campaign began in 2008 and each year, it touches the lives of so many. During this magical time of the year, I hope you will be equally rewarded as you give. Chesterbrook Preschools in North Carolina and South Carolina are taking part in MakeA-Wish event in December so we are part of a big group working together to raise donation for this remarkable foundation. 100% of donation will go to Make-A-Wish. I would also like to let our families know that donation for this cause is totally voluntary. Please do not feel pressure to give or part-take in any of the activities that we have planned. December is a time of giving and we realize that there are other opportunities to give during this time of the year.
As always, we appreciate our families!
