A Note From Our Principal
We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones and we enjoyed celebrating with you all last month. As the winter holidays approach, we have many special events planned for our students and families and look forward to spending time with you all. We’ve also enclosed important winter and holiday procedure reminders in this newsletter. Please read through it carefully and reach out if you have any questions, concerns. Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,

Inclement Weather Reminders
We do not always follow the closure schedule of the local public schools because we don’t have to contend with the same transportation issues as public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our working parents. If we must close because our teachers cannot safely get to work, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced. We also post notifications on our website, our Facebook Page and will send a message through the text messaging system REMIND. We will also update our answering machine at the school if there is a change in our opening. Delayed openings and early closures will also follow this protocol. It is the best interest of our management team to allow our teachers to travel to and from school as safely as possible. On these days that inclement weather is a threat to our area, we ask that you please notify us as soon as possible if your child’s schedule will be changing (absences, late arrival or leaving early) this will assist us in following our classroom ratios and the ability to adjust the teachers schedules to accommodate their travel needs.
Winter Clothing Reminder
If you’ve not already done so, please check your child’s cubby to ensure they have an extra set of weather appropriate clothes. Students also need to come to school each day with a jacket and dressed warm enough to play outside for part of the day. If the weather is brisk, we still go outside for active games and SPARK activities and want everyone to be able to participate!
Holiday Closures
Our school is closed on December 25th for Christmas and January 1st for New Year’s Day. We will be closing at 3:00 p.m. on December 24th – so our staff can attend Christmas Eve festivities with their families.
Holiday Show
The holiday show will be held on Friday December 14th at 7:00 p.m. We are asking that the children arrive at 6:45 p.m. The event will be held at the Spring Ford Area 9th Grade Center located at 400 South Lewis Road. Tickets will be on sale the first week of December. The prices for tickets are $3.00 each or 2 tickets for $5.00. Children 5 and under do not need a ticket to attend.
This year we have added a snow date to our show. In the event of inclement weather, the event will take place on Sunday December 16th at 4:00 p.m. We will notify you via Tadpoles and text if we need to utilize the snow date.
With the purchase of each ticket you will be entered to win a raffle basket. Also, to assist in decorating for the event the PTO is hosting a Poinsettia Sale. Please visit the flyer in your Tadpoles to place your order.
Classroom Holiday Celebrations
Through the month of December our classes will be learning about different winter holidays and customs. Some of the classrooms will be having a classroom celebration on Friday December 21st. Please see your child’s classroom door for more specific information and if they are in need of party supplies.
Holiday Giving Project
This year we have adopted two families from the local Royersford Area, through Open Door Ministries. These are two families that are in need assistance during the holiday season. In each lobby of the two buildings at our school is a giving tree. We ask that you please take a tag and provide the gift that is labeled on these tags. You can provide more than one item listed on the tag. We ask that you attach the tag to the unwrapped gift or food item (gift bags are ok) and place it under one of the trees.
We also have placed a miscellaneous gift box under each tree. This box is designed to collect items such as personal hygiene items, candles, home décor or needs, gift packets, or anything else you might like to provide to the families in need to help brighten their holiday during this difficult season. We are asking that all donations be returned to the school by Monday December 14th.
