Dear Chesterbrook Families,
What a great start to our 2018-2019 school year we’ve had! Our students have adjusted well to their new classroom and have made our new friends feel right at home. September is a very busy month for us. Below are a few events that we would like to highlight.
Spirit Week : To celebrate the beginning of our year we have provided opportunities for our students and staff to show a little school spirit. Our daily themes are as follows:
- Tuesday – Neon Day
- Wednesday – Wacky Wednesday
- Thursday – Crazy Hair Day
- Friday – Mismatch Sock Day
Ancillary Programs: Our ancillary programs this fall are: Joy of Dance, Music 4 Life, Soccer Shots, and Stretch-n-Grow. Class start dates are listed below and registration information is available at the front desk
- Soccer Shots – September 10th
- Music for Life – September 11th
- Stretch-n-Grow – September 13th
- Joy of Dance – September 14th
Grandparent’s Day: It’s time to celebrate our Grandparents; they definitely deserve it! Join us on Monday, September 10th at 3:00pm for an afternoon story-time and snack.
Charleston Wrap Fundraiser: Of first fundraiser of the year begins on Tuesday, September 4th. Please complete all order forms and return to the front office by close of business on Monday, September 17th. Orders will be delivered to schools beginning the week of October 8th. All checks should be made payable to Chesterbrook Academy.
National Keep Kids Creative Week: This holiday was created in 2003 by Bruce Van Patter in order to encourage children to grab hold of their innate creativity and never let go! During the week of September 17th students will be participating in activities that will allow them to “think outside the box”.
- Monday – Creative Outside Play
- Tuesday – Creative Snack Day
- Wednesday – Creative Game Day
- Thursday – Creative Sun Catcher Day
- Friday – Creative Rock Painting Day
Curriculum Night: Curriculum Night will be held on Tuesday, October 9th from 6:30-7:30pm. We encourage parents to attend this event as teachers will be providing insight to our curriculum, updating parents on their child’s progress, and answering any questions that parents may have.

- September 24th: Wear fall colors celebration of the first day of Autumn (September 22nd)
- September 26th: Johnny Appleseed Day; special apple snacks
- September 28th: Wear RED in celebration of World Heart Day (September 29th)
- Trunk or Treat: October 31st
- Fall Festival: November 10th
