Hello Chesterbrook Families,
Summer camp is off to a great start with a visit from our awesome DJ who hosted a singing and hula hoop competition and a visit from Ms. Judy Tudy the Magician! Next week there are more exciting activities to come! If you are looking for local activities this holiday weekend, Independence Seaport Museum is having family friendly firework viewing (advance tickets needed) and uwishunu.com has plenty more events to explore.
Have a great weekend,
Kerry Depka
Just a few summer reminders:
- We are closed July 4th for Independence Day!
- Please apply sunscreen to your child prior to coming to school. Many of our outdoor adventures start in the morning hours. Staff will reapply as needed for afternoon outings.
Kids Helping Kids Fundraiser
We are partnering with HEADStrong Foundation which is a local non profit that supports families affected by a cancer diagnose with direct services of financial support, entertainment/meals in hospital, patient mentorship and housing for those traveling to Philadelphia for specialized outpatient cancer care.
Watch their video – https://youtu.be/eId2azwra3o – much like Ben in the video, they currently have a 6 year old and 11 year old among their patients that are getting supported at Nick’s House in Swarthmore and Holmes.
On July 10th from 3:30-5:30 PM we will be hosting a Superhero Photobooth to raise money for this foundation. During afternoon pick up, your child/family can use provided props to transform into your superhero alter-ego and go home with the evidence! We are asking for a minimum of $5.00 per photo to raise money for children like Ben, whose treatment and care was transformed by HEADstrong. We will also provide change boxes to take home to continue donations until July 27th. Are you going to miss the Superhero Photobooth? You can use the provided link to donate anytime to support HEADstrong Foundation! Donate Online for Team Chesterbrook
